It's been about a year since the Nintendo Switch 2 was released to the gaming world. Since then, we've received a ton of amazing games that look and feel great on hardware that's both fresh and familiar. But just like the world of gaming, no matter how many great titles are released, there always seems to be more to come, and in June alone we'll be seeing quite a few amazing games from both existing franchises and new IPs.

From remakes to new titles, 2026 is shaping up to be a blockbuster year for gaming.
It seems like only yesterday that the original Switch was released, and as an early adopter, I've always been a fan of the platform for its commitment to comfort and game lineup that has kept it at the top of the industry for so long. Now, almost a decade later, we're seeing that success continue with a series of new releases that will tick all the boxes for gamers of all shapes and sizes.

full remake star fox 64
star fox It returns to Nintendo's lineup this June with new entries focused on cinematic space combat, branching mission paths, and large-scale planetary battles. The franchise has been very quiet over the past decade. zero, But that doesn't mean dying fans have forgotten the cunning, cunning pilots who once dominated the rail shooter genre.
I, along with many others, am quite amazed by the new visual approach that takes Fox and his friends into the realm of much higher fidelity. But there is something about seeing and hearing that voice that still excites me in the face of change. Whether you're crazy about bigger encounters, denser environments, or just want to play as Fox again, I can promise that June will bring a whole new addiction that will get you hooked.

Discover the most ambitious and promising open world games coming in the next few years that could set a new standard for the genre.
The biggest difference this time is in the mode. Not only will you have the opportunity to compete on the international stage with a team you've created, but you'll also have the opportunity to play against others and increase the intensity through 6v6 matches, scoring more goals and giving you more opportunities to show off your ball skills. I've always loved playing soccer games with my friends, and now that I can enjoy them on the go with the Switch 2, I'll definitely pick it up and take it to the top.

Beautiful HD-2D real-time combat
The RPG space has seen a lot of growth over the past few years, and now we're about to bring you another epic adventure. Elliot's Adventures: Millennium Tales It represents a modern HD-2D design that replaces turn-based gameplay with real-time combat, while retaining all the charm and feel of classic titles from the genre's early days.
The title's characters are front and center, allowing players to spend a lot of time in the boots rather than swapping between multiple protagonists on the fly. I've become more invested in the world of HD-2D gaming over the past few years and am really excited about trying new things. Square's track record suggests it will almost certainly succeed.

Unrailed 2: Return to Normal
Bring back the couch co-op icon

-
Price: $19.99

Release date: June 11, 2026

Procedurally generated madness with plenty of replay value
Unrailed 2: Return to Normal It expands on the cooperative survival formula of the original with larger, upgraded biomes and a more sophisticated resource management system that will test even the best friendships to their absolute limits. The team must quickly build and maintain a railroad while navigating procedural disasters and environmental hazards, along with some pretty nasty bosses looking to blow holes in the team's solid plans.
The first game got me a lot of hours and felt like a logical couch co-op game for party nights, especially among non-gamers. This time, with a full-fledged level editor and tons of new obstacles to conquer, you'll be itching to get on the track and begin your adventure.

solar punk It's a more optimistic take on the survival crafting genre, replacing intense resource management with a more cozy approach full of color and life. It's about traversing renewable energy systems and floating environments. Not for the sake of being alive, but for the pure joy and freedom that comes from feeling weightless.

Upcoming role-playing games people are excited about
There are plenty of RPGs announced for 2026 and beyond, but the upcoming role-playing game is especially exciting.
I was immediately drawn to the game purely for its aesthetics and because there were no restrictions on how or why you could play it. You can build a large village base or go exploring to your heart's content. First, I will balance the two, traveling to the horizon without a care in the world, then returning home to watch the sun rise over my beautiful creations.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth
The next step in the saga

Faithful to the original, yet new direction
Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is one of the biggest names in the RPG space, and now that it's released on Switch 2, its resurrection story can continue to blossom on a much wider playing field. One of the biggest draws comes from the new device's upgraded performance. This should give players the epic fantasy experience they love and deserve, considering how large and graphically intensive many of the areas are.
The visuals are truly amazing. FF I, like many other players who may have missed the original game's release, am thrilled to be able to enjoy such an amazing story in a much more cinematic form. It's a faithful yet new iteration of Cloud's iconic story, and the final stop before the trilogy concludes in just a few years.
