For a little over a year since I have been able to explore Open World, Crew Unlimited, a fan project to resurrect Ubisoft Racer The Crew, has been completely released.
As it was first unveiled on Twitter, the 1.0 -version crew unlimited is now live, and the exhausted freelancer game developer team restored the game that was terminated and could not play offline, ultimately removed from the account.
“The crew came back and stayed here!” Read posts on the project website.
This project, which uses a server emulator to create a local server that players can play offline, can be freely owned with the actual server for online play, but the team does not have the right to redistribute.
“This is not just a server emulator project, but much more. Dedicated and passionate community, the effort to preserve the legacy of the biggest driving game and take it to a new height,” I read.
Think that effort has been achieved by much more work in the pipeline.
The crew's shutdown was an important moment in game history.
Following the anger surrounding the closure of the crew, two fans who claimed that Ubisoft were preventing the use of the products paid by Ubisoft began. Ubisoft finally insisted that “ownership” was not promised, emphasizing the main factors of combat to preserve the game.
During the same period, Ubisoft created the offline mode of crew 2 and the Crew Motorfest was set to receive a similar mode. However, fans have asked for similar treatments to avoid similar situations, with Ubisoft's online -only games, such as Ghost Recon and The Division.
That part has not been solved yet, and I'm not sure if other Ubisoft titles will be preserved. Either way, Monday news has won a big victory in the preservation battle, which is worth congratulations.
