The best quests in Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail.

It's no exaggeration to say that quests form the backbone of Final Fantasy 14 content, and this remains the case even in the latest expansion, Dawntrail. You'll continue your quest on an endless journey to unlock content, explore the world around you, and experience the vivid characters that inhabit the expansion's setting, Tural.

Every quest is unique, from regular side quests to (especially) main scenario quests, but some stand out above the rest in terms of what they get. Beware of spoilers as we feature some of the best quests Dawntrail has to offer.

8 A new dawn, a new hunt

The Hunt Board of Tuliyollal and Bol Ogaw.

  • Level 90 -100
  • Location: Tuliyolal
  • Unlock Hunt

One of the first things you can do when you arrive in Tuliyollal at the start of Dawntrail is to take on this feature quest, which unlocks the Hunt Board in the town. The quests themselves are very short and don't have much plot or lore, but you'll still want to put in the effort to unlock the content behind them.

Hunting is incredibly useful and offers many great rewards, including unique mounts. Keep in mind that this quest is only the first quest in the quest chain. Keep checking back as you level up to unlock advanced hunts and earn bigger rewards.

7 Trial of the Spire

A training dummy at Dawntrail's Judgment Spire.

  • level 100
  • Location: Solution Nine
  • Unlock Spire of Trials (Stone, Sky, Sea)

When it comes to feature quests to unlock, Trial By Spire is an important quest to do if you plan on participating in Final Fantasy's raid scene. This quest unlocks Spire of Trial, the Stone, Sky, and Sea version of Dawntrail.

Stone, Sky, and Sea are areas where you can practice against training dummies while attacking HP targets based on the extreme or brutal content of the game. This is a great tool to use to ensure you meet the DPS requirements to clear the content you set.

6 hunter and prey

Kuiyki shooting a bow and arrow in Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail.

  • Level 90 – 100
  • Location: Tuliyolal, Kugane

Role quests have become important since Shadowbringers, and Dawntrail continues the tradition by giving players five separate quest lines to choose from based on their class role. There are quests for tanks, healers, melee DPS, physical ranged DPS, and magic ranged DPS.

The Melee DPS quest, especially starting with The Hunter and the Hunted, is a very fun questline that returns you to Kugane and Othard looking for the shapeshifters causing havoc in the area. There's plenty of story, fun, and tension throughout the quest chain to keep you engaged.

rral soj npc for blacksmith, armorer, goldsmith delivery

  • Level 90 – 100
  • Location: Tuliyolal

Corresponding to the combat role quest is the Wachumeqimeqi delivery for crafters and collectors. These function like role quests, giving you five different quest lines to follow depending on your specific class and tasking you with saving the economy of Tuliyollal.

Your Friendly Neighborhood Metalworker is a game for blacksmiths, armorers, and goldsmiths that puts you in the middle of a skilled but stubborn master and an inexperienced but determined apprentice. Help them and the other merchants of Wachumeqimeqi save the market district!

4 There's something strange in the neighborhood

Strayborough Deadwalk Dungeon Entrance

  • level 100
  • Location: Solution Nine
  • Unlock Strayborough Deadwalk

Completing Dawntrail's final main scenario quest opens up a ton of content for you to unlock and engage with. These quests include dungeons, raids, trials, and more to fill time while waiting for the next part of the expansion's main scenario. A story to come out.

Something Stray in the Neighborhood unlocks one of the level 100 dungeons that will be part of a specialized roulette called Strayborough Deadwalk. Complete this quest as quickly as possible as it's a creepy and haunted amusement park full of unique enemies and fun bosses.

3 it belongs to the museum

Tural's strongest snake, the final boss of Tender Valley.

  • level 100
  • Location: Tuliyolal
  • Unlock Tender Valley
  • Everyone praise the great serpent

Like Something Stray in the Neighborhood, It Belongs in a Museum unlocks another level 100 dungeon for you to tackle. This dungeon in particular is not only filled with fun combat, but also has striking similarities to certain characters and areas from Shadowbringers, making it a real treat for long-time fans of the game.

While traveling through the dungeon in question, Tender Valley, you eventually come across ruins that are strikingly similar to the ruins of Ronka in the Rak'Tika Greatwood from Shadowbringers. The final boss is a nod to the popular “great” character found in Shadowbringer's side quests.

2 A new challenger approaches

In Final Fantasy 14 Dawntrail, the Warrior of Light walks into Arcadion.

  • level 100
  • Location: Solution Nine
  • Unlock the Arcadion Raid Series

A New Challenger Approaches begins your raid adventure on Dawntrail and is a very fun questline in its own right. Not only are the unlocked battles fun and challenging, but the story of the raid series is also interesting and engaging.

Final Fantasy 14's raid series always has a fan-favorite story attached, and Dawntrail is no exception. Some fans even say that this quest should not be skipped, as in some cases the raid storyline is better than the main storyline.

1 Main scenario quest

  • Level 90 – 100
  • Location: Sharlyan, Tuliyollal and rest of Tural region
  • All Dawntrail content is curated by Stories.

The quest that everyone must go through no matter what happens is the main scenario quest, or MSQ. All other forms of content and feature quests are locked behind story progression, so completing these quests is very important. It also helps that Final Fantasy 14's story is generally considered one of the best in MMOs and RPGs.

Dawntrail's story has received somewhat mixed reviews, but it's still a fun adventure, mostly due to the completion of the previous decade-plus story arc that ended in Endwalker, and most quests in MSQ still have a final step. Fantasy 14 Magic.
