Multiplayer games are typically dominated by combat-heavy games. For example, Fortnite, Call of Duty, and Halo all revolve around shooting and killing people. This is a lot of fun, but killing isn't a prerequisite for a chaotic game. Anarchy can appear even in games with no combat at all.
Things that require delicate teamwork or time management often lead to real arguments, at least when the right (or wrong) group of friends get together. What follows is a confusing multiplayer game that doesn't involve any form of combat.
tied together
Chained Together is a great title for this co-op game because all players are chained together. To reach the top, we must climb into the depths of hell together, or at least climb as high as possible. Progression mainly consists of running and jumping to various platforms.
In these moments, you need to be in sync with the people you are connected to. Otherwise you will all fall. This makes you dependent on your partner, which means sabotage and criticism will occur frequently while playing this game. And the situation regularly leads to them yelling at each other.
You keep talking and no one explodes
In Keep Talking and Nothing Explodes, you and your friends try to defuse a bomb. One of you has a bomb containing several modules, each acting as a small puzzle. How to solve each problem is contained in the manual that the other person has in real life.
Players with bombs must clearly describe which module they are looking at, and passive players must clearly describe how to solve the module. This usually starts off calmly enough, but once the timer starts ticking, panic can set in and things can get a little chaotic.
moving 2
Moving Out 2 places you as part of a moving group. Just like in real life, movers remove items from their home, load them into trucks, and prepare them for transport to their new home. Unlike real life, the physics in this game are truly strange, and there are surprising hazards that can hinder your progress.
Additionally, the time limit is very strict. This means working efficiently and demonstrating strong cohesion. Or, you may panic and start throwing things to get them to the truck faster. If you choose this method, things can quickly get out of control.
content warning
In a world full of content creators and influencers, views are everything, and that's what we're after at Content Alert. This is a multiplayer game where you go down into a dark underground space with a camera. Once you get down, you need to shoot as many scary monsters as possible without dying.
Take that video back to the surface, upload it, and start racking up views. Easier said than done. It can be difficult to film monsters running around trying to kill you and your friends. This is why confusion often arises.
fall guys
Fall Guys is like an online game show where you compete in all kinds of events in the hope of not being one of the eliminated. These contests vary. Some people run the course like an attack, trying to get to the finish line fast enough to qualify, while others stay on the platform and try to avoid incoming obstacles.
These are just a few of the different types of events in the game. Most of it revolves around large groups of people trying to survive, so things can get out of control.
ultimate chicken talk
Ultimate Chicken Horse is a competitive multiplayer platform game where the goal of each round is to reach the exit. Every player can be happy when they reach the end… but it doesn't mean anything. For someone to score, at least one person must fail.
This is where the various blocks and traps you can place come into play. Because in reality, you're trying to make it difficult enough for all your opponents to fail, but easy enough for them to succeed. At the end of each round you'll have the opportunity to place something new, so the more you play, the more your screen will become covered in stuff. Also, first place gets more points. This means that moving quickly is the recommended strategy and this only adds to the level of confusion.
Octodad: The scariest catch.
In Octodad, you control an octopus that pretends to be a human. Because they are not used to walking on two feet, it is difficult to control their body. But you have to keep it together enough to complete the various objectives you're given without revealing that you're an eight-tentacled sea creature.
In single player it's pretty confusing. But things get more intense when you play the game cooperatively. Because everyone controls a different group of tentacles. Working in a harmonious way is a difficult task.
WarioWare: Move!
WarioWare: Move! is a party game where all players play fast-paced minigames. Each minigame only lasts a few seconds, so there's little time to think. Therefore, you must act quickly, even if it may lead to failure.
Adding to the confusion is the fact that each minigame is played using the Nintendo Switch's motion controls. This means you'll have to move your body desperately to complete the minigame within the required time.
Cognitophobia
Nothing increases your stress levels and panics like a really scary game. A multiplayer that fits the bill is Phasmaphobia. This is a horror title where you enter a haunted area and find out what ghosts are there, while trying not to die at the same time.
There is no counterattack. All you have to do is conduct research and avoid supernatural creatures. You may panic if you feel like a ghost has spotted you or is nearby. At least you have a few friends by your side with whom you can communicate, but they too are at risk. Hearing their screams over the walkie-talkie may either make you more embarrassed or make you laugh, depending on what kind of bond you share.
overdo
You and your friends are running the kitchen at Overcooked. That means you have to prepare the food, cook it, plate it all up, and take it to the counter. It all sounds very peaceful and cozy. But nothing is peaceful.
You only have a certain amount of time to complete each order, and the more orders you complete within the total time, the better your score. This time, time pressure may have people running around and trying to get ready as quickly as possible. In chaos, mistakes can be made and people can get angry. It's the most stressful pleasure you can have.
