GTA 6 will be a “monster,” says a former Rockstar developer.

The former Rockstar producer, who worked on Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, admitted he “can only imagine” how big GTA 6 will be.

As anyone who's had the pleasure of playing GTA 5 or Red Dead Redemption 2 on the last two console generations will know, Rockstar's releases typically complement the lengthy development process with massive games with tons of things to see and do. In fact, all of Rockstar's latest releases are still being curated to this day.

Considering how long GTA 6 has been in development now, everyone is wondering how big it will actually be. But it turns out it's not just GTA fans who want to know the answer. Even a former Rockstar Games developer said he had no idea what the studio had in store.

Former Rockstar Producer: “I can only imagine how big GTA 6 will be”

Considering they were involved in GTA 5, it makes a lot of sense.

As GamesRadar+ points out, former Rockstar producer John Ricchio, who worked on games like GTA 5, Red Dead Redemption, and Max Payne, recently spoke with YouTuber KiwiTalkz about his time at the studio. At one point, Riccio was asked if he wanted to be involved in the launch of GTA 6, given all the hype surrounding it.

In response, Ricchio pointed out that every time Rockstar makes a new GTA, it's “ridiculously bigger than the last one.” The former producer said he “can only imagine” how big GTA 6 will be, and that it would be a “monster” if it weren't so detailed. From what we've seen so far, his words are almost certainly true.

Ricchio goes on to say that he was “excited” for Rockstar's release, with each game being bigger than its predecessor, with GTA 5 surpassing both GTA 4 and the original Red Dead Redemption. The expanded scope of each game adds “an extra wrinkle” for those working on it, but Ricchio believes the work speaks for itself and makes you feel “like you're in a place.”

With all this in mind, Riccio says he's happy overall. ~ no He's working on GTA 6 because development is “really hard.” Still, the former developer finds the excitement surrounding Rockstar games “magical” and “very rewarding.” I think we'll soon find out for ourselves if GTA 6 lives up to all those expectations.
