The 5 Best Games of July 2026, Officially Ranked

There may not be a true GOTY candidate yet, but July has already brought us some great games, including single-player AAA adventures, multiplayer romps, Switch exclusives, indie games, and even some fantastic DLC. These days, there are so many projects coming up every week that it's tiresome trying to narrow down the choices. My hope is that this article can do just that.

The following upcoming releases: Halo: Evolving the Campaign, Avatar Legends: Fighting Game, splatoon raidersand Dragon Sword: Awakening There might be something to say about it, but it needs to be as close to a 10/10 as possible to etch its name atop the best July games so far. If you're looking for a game to play, this title is worth a closer look, but it's a good idea to check out some gameplay footage before investing.

A few things to keep in mind:

  • Games released between July 1st and 14th will be considered.

  • If this article is successful enough, I'll update it later this month.

  • No DLC; That means, DOOM: Dark Ages‘Revelation’ is the best movie released in July.

Honorable Mention: July 2026 Game

  • Granblue Fantasy: Relink – Endless Ragnarok – I loved it so much I almost ranked this one as number one. Granblue Fantasy: RelinkAnd the new content is great. but, Endless Ragnarok Ultimately, it is expansion.
  • immortal fate – A very niche but promising early access farming RPG.

Cat Mail Co. wraps you in a warm and cozy blanket.

management mentality

See, sometimes all you need is a cozy atmosphere. Catmail Co., Ltd. We deliver it in no time. Yes, it's not the deepest management sim of all time, but not every game needs to be that way. Dwarf Fortress. no, Catmail Co., Ltd. I'm just asking you to run the post office.Eliminate complex or stressful mechanisms in favor of simple loops that offer progressively more options.

Catmail Co., Ltd. It might not keep someone's attention for months, but it's one of those games you can come back to whenever you need a little therapeutic escape. The loop is ultimately repetitive because you're mostly doing the same thing over and over again, but the arrival of more fragile boxes adds enough complexity to keep you going.

Looking at this Reddit thread, Catmail Co., Ltd. Causes motion sickness in some peopleSo that's something to be bored with. Surprisingly, it didn't really affect me that much. 100% try the demo before you buy..

Live the life of a vampire with Moonlight Peaks

Life/Farm Sim

It's a game that has somewhat different opinions than what I've seen. Moonlight Peak It's another release that will please the cozy crowd, albeit in a very different way than its predecessor. Catmail Co., Ltd. This is A pure life/farming simulation that shakes up the game by casting you as a vampire. It takes you into a familiar isometric world with a refreshing gothic aesthetic. Honestly it's the best about Moonlight Peak Maybe it's the way the art style and visuals seem to knock it out of the park.

Leaving aside the vampire element, The game offers mostly what you'd expect from a life simulation. Most of my time is spent managing the farm and building relationships with the local area. Although the latter moves at a fairly slow pace even by the standards of the genre. Moonlight Peak There are 23 romantic characters, and they go beyond vampires (you can date witches, werewolves, seers, and even mermaids).

Rhythm Heaven Groove has a lot to offer.

Rhythm Minigame Collection (including RPG mode)

It's time for that Exclusive to Nintendo Switch (yes, not exclusive to Switch 2)! Rhythm Heaven Groove This is the first entry in the series since 2015. Rhythm Heaven MegamixIt has succeeded in maintaining the high standards set by its predecessor. Obviously we're talking about a collection of rhythm minigames, so a person's mileage will vary greatly depending on whether one of those words sounds good to them.

Rhythm Heaven Groove It balances simple gameplay with fantastic music to create minigames that don't last long but make the most of your time. good night WariowareYou'll probably play most of the minigames very quickly. Rhythm Heaven Groove It extends its life with an RPG dungeon crawler mode that can be easily expanded into a standalone experience.. The multiplayer and co-op games are also great.

Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resync Fixes Most Issues

Open world action adventure

great. July 2026 The biggest game so far. exception Halo: Evolving the CampaignNothing else is on the same level. Resync Assassin's Creed Black Flagis a long-awaited remake that many consider to be the best entry in Ubisoft's franchise. Despite receiving almost exclusive praise, the game's release was marred by some controversy due to the presence of DLC packs. This is an understandable reaction.

But ultimately, Black flag resync is close to a “perfect” remake in that it maintains almost everything that made the original so beloved while introducing some much-needed improvements. Ubisoft did not convert. black flag Transformed into an RPG, but modernized with stealth and parkour for the latest release. Tailing missions no longer have auto-fail, but they've gone too far by making it nearly impossible to actually fail.

Difficulty level is probably Black flag resyncThe biggest obstacle is that the game is too easy, so the improved combat power does not shine properly. Still, it's a great remake of a great game.

Palworld 1.0 is an outrageous leap in quantity and quality.

Open World Monster Tamer

Well, this feels like cheating. Pal World It might be wrong to describe it as a new game, as it's been a staple of the game for years at this point… but that's what the game is. From the beginning, Pocketpair has packed enough content into Palpagos Islands to keep everyone busy, but version 1.0 adds so much new content that it will keep even those putting in thousands of hours of work busy for a long time.

The biggest thing that came to light Pal World's World Tree's endgame features over-the-top enemies, a decent final boss, and plenty of resources. In fact, in 1.0 the map has been expanded significantly, including another new region called Sunreach, to the point where the old map looks small. Dozens of new friends have also been added, and breeding has been overhauled to unify the mutation system.

If you are already in love Pal WorldIf so, there's no need for it to be sold at 1.0. If you've never played it before Pal WorldNow is the time to change that.
