Open world survival crafting games are everywhere, but one of the best games in the genre is coming soon. PS5 Of course, the PS5 already has some of the best open-world survival crafting games on the market, but the upcoming addition is still hotly anticipated because it's one of the best.
Previously, this open-world survival craft was a console exclusive to Xbox and was also available on Steam, but its addition to PS5 gives it a much wider audience. The good news is that this isn't just a port, with players receiving one of the game's biggest pieces of content to date.
Grounded 2 launches on PS5 on August 11th
ground 2 It's been steadily expanding through Early Access, but PS5 players have been waiting. Earlier this summer, developer Obsidian Entertainment confirmed that the survival game's sequel will officially release on PlayStation 5 on August 11. Just like the original ground, ground 2 It's built around community feedback throughout development. Obsidian has repeatedly emphasized that player suggestions will continue to shape the game during Early Access, including new features, balance changes, and major content additions over time. This philosophy continues in the next update, which dramatically expands Brookhollow Park's map and even gives returning players a whole new area to survive in.

ground 2's PS5 release is also paired with the Into the Abyss update, which opens Brookhollow Park's massive pond and introduces one of the largest areas in the game. Players can explore locations such as mountains, bayou, and the deep sea while unlocking new progression paths, equipment, and threats. This expansion also overhauls underwater exploration. The diving suit allows players to stay underwater longer and reach previously inaccessible areas, while creatures like koi fish and diving bell spiders return, along with new dangers lurking beneath the surface.

Obsidian says the team took everything they learned from the original and built it into Pond. grounded's underwater gameplay. Another major addition is the Toe-biter, a new amphibious buggy. ground 2 You can travel smoothly both on land and sea. This allows for faster exploration around the pond area, allows easier access to hidden areas, and gives players another way to escape from the numerous large creatures roaming Brookhollow Park (always easier said than done).

On Steam, ground 2 got 87% very positive It felt a bit underrated, with players praising it as the kind of sequel they wanted from Obsidian. Almost everything about the game has been praised in terms of content, with some fans raising technical issues and seeing content as the only missing element of the game.
