Despite this, Kaido mainly relied on Haki, of which he was able to skillfully use advanced forms, allowing him to fight for days on end.

Too many fans tend to overlook the meaning of the title ‘World’s Strongest Swordsman’. Since most of the world's pirates tend to be swordsmen, Mihawk is said and considered to be Shanks' equal despite having better swordsmanship, so standing above them all shows an unparalleled level of power.

Using Yoru, the highest-ranked sword, Mihawk rose to the top of the world through his blade talent and mastery of Haki, which transformed Yoru into one of the only two sword blades known in history. This is quite a significant feat as even famous swordsmen of the past like Roger and Rox could not do so with their own weapons, proving that Mihawk exists at a much higher level.

He has been shown taking on one-time Yonko level pirates or even neutralizing a Navy Admiral from miles away with very little effort.

To many, Shanks is considered the second coming of Roger himself. Because his power and notoriety in the world has soared to levels never seen before. Despite not possessing a Devil Fruit, most people agree that he is currently much stronger than Luffy and Loki, and while he is still likely to be on par with Mihawk, Shanks has firmly established himself as the greatest pirate of the modern era.
