As this is the first weekend Pokemon Legends: ZAPlayers are already looking for the best strategies to get the most powerful Pokémon quickly and defeat tough alphas or trainers. Others are taking their time slowly trying to find all the Pokémon. Pokemon Legends: ZAExplore the Wild Zones and complete Mable's research. There is no right or wrong way to do this. I like mixing the two, and spending time talking to various NPCs led me to discover some niche facts about the game and its critters, and most shockingly, one that Gen 7's Pokedex had only hinted at.
Pokemon Legends: ZA It creates new Pokedex entries for some animals, but many others are recycled from previous versions, and the Mega Evolutions entries added to this game are completely new. While I enjoy reading Pokedex entries for the Pokémon I'm most interested in, some interesting facts are discovered not through the Pokedex itself or the game's Pokémon professors, but rather by talking to random NPCs. This is exactly what I did, and I discovered something quite shocking. Vanillish, the Ice Cream Pokémon, actually has internal organs. Yes, you read that right. This is ice cream with intestines in it. Organ Ice Cream. No matter how you put it, it's disgusting at best and nightmare fuel at worst.
The NPC states that they are part of the Pokedex Research Society and that they believe the Vanillish use their internal organs to create cold air. This makes sense if you think about it, since Pokémon must have organs beyond the brain. But since they are often cute creatures with smiling faces and bizarre appearances, this is more of a buried thought than something I consciously consider. Now, faced with shocking images of ice cream with entrails in it, I had to put the console down for a minute or two.
Pokemon Sun and Moon's Pokedex states that Vanilluxe, the evolution of Vanillish, has two heads and two brains. Additionally, it is written that he can survive even if he loses one of his heads. It's terrible.
Pokemon Legends: ZA's strangest Pokedex entries have already become clear.
To further solidify the disgusting feel of the game, there's another random NPC asking how to get rid of “Pokemon droppings”, meaning excrement. So I now know that one of my favorite Gen 5 Pokémon species not only has internal organs, but also excretes food and such through its body. Did I need to know this? no. no. It wasn't like that. As a huge fan of ice cream, I'm not sure if I want to eat it for the next few months.
To be fair, there were already red flags. Pokémon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon Vanillaite, the first stage of the evolutionary line, is said to be born when the sun hits an icicle that does not want to melt. Additionally, Darumaka's Pokedex entry states that people use excrement to keep themselves warm. Strange and dark Pokedex entries are nothing new, but this raises all kinds of questions about the Pokedex. pokemon Universe, there aren't many answers.
Pokemon Legends: ZA's New Mega Evolution Is Officially Cursed
yet, Pokemon Legends: ZA's Pokedex is full of strange entries that will make you rethink what you know about Pokémon. Here are some examples:
-
Mega Clefable: “Use the power of moonlight to fly with controlled gravity within a radius of over 32 feet around you.” So what happens when daylight comes? Have I lost my ability to fly? What happens when you fly high in the sky as dawn breaks?
-
Mega Chandelure: “One of its eyes is a window between our world and the afterlife. This Pokémon draws in hatred and transforms it into power.” Pokemon Legends: ZA Perhaps coincidentally confirming that there is an afterlife where both people and Pokémon go. This opens up a lot of possibilities, as ghost-type Pokémon are sometimes defined as actual ghosts and other Pokémon are not.
-
Megapyroar: “This Pokémon breathes flames hotter than 18,000 degrees Fahrenheit. It wields its massive, blazing mane to protect its allies.” It's worth noting that the temperature of the sun's surface is around 10,000 degrees Fahrenheit, so Mega Pyroar can melt almost anything. The fact that this is also true in Magcargo makes me even more anxious because instead of double-checking this information, the game doubles down.
To be honest, I'm not sure what to think about all of this. Mega Pyroar is probably my favorite new Mega Evolution. Pokemon Legends: ZA With Mega Falinks, so I just have to accept the fact that it can melt planets and it likely has guts, poop, and all sorts of other things. But at least Pyroar is based on a lion. I never thought I'd see the day where Pokemon made it official with Vannilite, Vanillish, and Vanillux having organs, but here we are.
The history of Pokémon's messy Pokedex entries continues in Legends: ZA
At the same time, in a franchise supposedly intended for children, Phantump is a stump imbued with the souls of dead children, Palossand is a stump with dried bones of his victims at the base of a sandcastle, Drifloon and Hypno kidnap children, and Jigglypuff is unable to breathe while singing, causing his own death. What did you expect from a franchise with such a horrific Pokedex entry that it threatens your life? Of course, this is a pretty dark truth, but I think there's something particularly unpleasant about ice cream with intestines in it, and if that doesn't bother you, I don't know what to tell you.
