In the TYBW Part 3 special finale, Uryu's reason for joining the Sternritters was revealed.

The following contains spoilers for the first of the two final episodes of BLEACH: The Millennium Bloodbath Part 3 – Conflict, titled “The Visible Answer,” available on Hulu and Disney+.

The final episode of Bleach: Thousand Year Blood War has been confirmed.

Uryu's True Alignment

It turns out that Uryū wasn't actually on Yhwach's side.

In a post-credits scene following “The Visible Answer”, Uryū's father Ryūken is standing in the middle of a graveyard. Uryu's reasons stem from his loyalty to his grandfather's lifestyle as a Quincy, the loss of his mother and the subsequent breakdown of his family, and the fact that something about his power allows him to resist and overthrow the very power of Yhwach.

He challenges Uryū to a battle “while His Majesty is asleep,” and has Uryū tell Ichigo and the others to go to the top floor of the Welt to take down Yhwach while he keeps Haschwalth busy. Haschwalth makes no mention of the offense carried by The Bambies.

Ichigo insists, but Uryū is adamant that this is not the episode's title, as these are not his last words. The Gate of the Sun turns out to be quite old, and Isshin and Ryuken arrive at Soul Society with a key that once belonged to Soken Ishida. The Bambies, who thought it would be easier to kill Yhwach in his sleep, ended up being completely slaughtered by the Quincy King. This marks Uryū's attempt to send Ichigo and the others to take advantage of Yhwach's assumed vulnerability. It was useless.

Since Haschwalth does not attempt to chase Ichigo, Uryū asks if it is okay for him not to pretend to chase after them, but Haschwalth reminds him that he now has precognitive powers and with this he assures him that he does not need to. That said, Nakk Le Vaar is a very interesting choice as a narrator, and the Sternritter most fans would want to talk about if possible, not to mention the fact that it also provided additional information about previous iterations.
