Pokemon GO has announced that Spotlight Hour will begin again in June. Since launching in 2016, Pokemon GO Developer Niantic has made a number of changes to the game, some of which are more welcome than others. Spotlight Hours were available weekly until the feature was temporarily shut down in March. Pokemon GO Spotlight Hours were reintroduced in April, but were only offered as part of daily events and lacked bonuses. Niantic is now restoring Spotlight Hours to their former glory by launching a weekly event on June 18th from 6PM to 7PM local time. This also means Spotlight Hours will be moved to Thursdays rather than the traditional Tuesdays. Bonuses will also come back.

Niantic hasn't provided any explanation as to why it took so long for Spotlight Hours to return, but fans already seem pretty happy. Bonuses can be quite a problem for some players, especially those who have been waiting to transfer Pokemon when they have a chance to get bonus candy. In every Spotlight Hour event announced this summer, players will be able to encounter shiny versions of those Pokémon. Shiny Crobat's unique colors are worth seeking out, so players may want to put in a little effort to find Shiny Zubat during Spotlight Hour.
These Spotlight Hours will also help fill your busy summer. Pokemon GO. Frigibax will appear in the Community Day event on June 20th, and Skarmory Super Mega Raid Day will take place on June 27th. The biggest event of the summer is Pokemon GO Fest, and players can look forward to the global celebration taking place on July 11th and 12th. In addition to several other festivals taking place over the two days, Mega Mewtwo X and Y are finally being released.

The return of Spotlight Hours is at least some evidence that Niantic is listening. Pokemon GO player. The company doesn't always accommodate fans' demands, but it seems like there's an effort to do so when possible. There's no word yet on whether Spotlight Hours will continue to appear in the game following what was announced, so players will have to wait and see what happens in August.
