Sengoku Dynasty Players can perform various resource gathering activities while building their village. Unfortunately, one activity that players cannot enjoy individually is fishing. As of this writing, this is entirely the domain of the villagers and they will need to spend time and energy setting up their village to accommodate fishing.

Naturally, this means that the village must be near water. Sengoku DynastyThis is because the Fisherman's Hut is currently the only building that must be built partially over the water. This limits access to fish and fish-derived products (such as oil), making it important to start fishing sooner rather than later to take advantage of these resources.

How to build a fisherman's hut in the Sengoku Dynasty

The trickiest part of assembling a fisherman's hut is finding the points where the water can pop out. Ideally, if you build your village near the coast, you will have access to a beach area where you can place a fisherman's hut. Once you've chosen a good site, you'll need to go through the usual tasks of supplying materials step by step to assemble the structure. The only material you may not have used before this point is the bamboo needed to make the fishing net rack. Fortunately, bamboo is fairly easy to find growing near rivers.

How to Get Fish in Sengoku Dynasty

Once you've built a Fisherman's Hut, you can assign workers to the various workbenches within it. (Fishing Net Rack and Fisherman's Workshop.) The Net Rack lets you assign people to make rope and nets, but the Fisherman's Workshop is key to getting the actual fish. Once you assign someone to work there, you can instruct them to gather fish and shellfish and use the fish and water to make oil.

To gather fish, you'll need a fishing net, so you'll either have to craft it yourself or have someone on the fishing net shelf to produce it automatically.

Can I go fishing at Sengoku Dynasty?

Unfortunately, as of version 1.0 there is no way for the player character to fish. This means that if you want reliable access to fish, shellfish and oil, you have to outsource fishing to villagers. (You can also collect seashells from the beach if you're willing to do a little cleaning up.)
