Halo Studios developers criticized for wearing PlayStation gear after Campaign Evolved reveal

It took 24 hours for the drama surrounding Friday's reveal that the next Halo game from Halo Studios, the rebranded development team once known as 343 Industries, to be Campaign Evolved, a remake of Halo: Combat Evolved, to finally come out. The game is a single-player only game that will bring a first-person shooter to PlayStation for the first time.

drama?

A member of Halo Studios appeared on the Halo World Championships stream wearing a t-shirt with the PlayStation logo.

Executive?

Mike Ybarra, former Blizzard chairman and Microsoft executive, joins the team.

It's a drama about nothing but burgers.

Ybarra took to Twitter to note that while he's “glad” that Halo is on PlayStation and Steam, there shouldn't be anyone on the team wearing a PlayStation shirt on the day of the announcement.

“It just hurts the faces of loyal Xbox fans so much. The way they treat players will last a lifetime.”

The incident in question shows a Halo Studios team member wearing a PS logo shirt over his jacket. This is not the most notable thing, and it is certainly not the most serious.

For what it's worth, it's not like Xbox hasn't acknowledged PlayStation over the years, including in congratulatory messages on social media, or has already acknowledged the brand in several videos. It appears that two key “exclusives” have already made their way to Sony consoles: Forza and Gears of War.

That means if you have to watch a drama, there's a good chance you'll find it, even if it's just about a shirt.
