Final Fantasy 14 fans may have some truly bizarre heroes. There are classic games like Zenos, Y'shtola, and Bakool Ja Ja, but when Square Enix accidentally added level 1 goats to random spots in old areas, it created a cult following that spawned fan art, songs, and very old stories. It's a strange fan base, but that's not to say it's not fun sometimes.
There's no telling what the next hot topic or hero will be, but as I first tried out the game's new dungeon, The Clyteum in Patch 7.5, I knew the moment Chort caught my eye that this guy was going to be a fan favorite. Low and behold, Chort is now
Every Final Fantasy 14 fan loves Chort, and so do I.
If you don't know, Chort is a big boss in the Final Fantasy 14 community who sports an expression that only a mother could love. He rolls into a big ball and lunges at you in an attempt to kill you, performing several belly slams in succession and attempting to vomit all over you. He's just an asshole of a boss.

Yoshi-P wants to “continue” Final Fantasy 14 even when he retires or dies.
It seems like Final Fantasy 14 wouldn't exist without Yoshi-P, but he's already thinking about getting the game ready for his final departure.
It's this goofiness that has caught on with the game's fanbase, with people all over social media declaring their new-found love for Chort and countless posts generating some of the best memes. There's already fan art of the creature, he's being added to existing memes, and people are now starting to decorate and recreate the cover of the movie as Chort slowly becomes a celebrity.
We also know this is a popular meme when Final Fantasy 14's own Twitter account joined in on the joke earlier this week by posting “Chort” to enthusiastic applause.
Chort has officially broken Final Fantasy 14's brain rot bubble, and Square Enix is now fully aware of how popular he is. That's how powerful Chort is right now. Now that he's known to everyone, we're expecting something like a Chort minion to come out in the near future, and if there's anything that isn't in the pipeline yet, Yoshi-P would have completely disappointed us all.
Still, I think he probably knows. Yoshi-P has always been keenly aware of how dumb the game's fan base can be, which was evident at the recent FanFest with their constant calls for butt sliders. Hopefully, a Chort minion or mount will be released soon, and if he falls on Evercold, it will automatically become the best expansion of all time.
