Tadayoshi Yamamuro has contributed a lot to the Dragon Ball franchise, and Janemba may be one of his best designs. But just because Yamamuro designed it doesn't mean Toriyama had nothing to do with it.

Nakatsuru created a transformation that, while not as iconic as the original Super Saiyan, comes close. GT was a big part of many fans' childhoods, and the Super Saiyan 4 transformation is a big part of why the series has held a place in fans' hearts for so long.
The design was completely changed from the previous line, favoring a Great Ape hybrid look and red color scheme as opposed to the classic yellow of the original line, allowing the SSJ4 to stand out on its own. Nakatsuru's design, which was not an official version for many years, was finally introduced into DAIMA's main series.
