The game only requires players to use Pokémon that have the Mega Evolution feature. Pokemon Legends: ZA Season 8 was the most unique overall, even though the rewards were middling.

But now things are changing dramatically and season 12 will be the beginning of a new era. Pokemon Legends: ZA. Reward shenanigans will probably continue to happen, with games awarding missing Mega Stones for reaching certain ranks and changes to end-of-season rewards, but there's a lot more coming on June 4th. In fact, Season 11 ends on June 4 and Season 12 begins immediately, bringing huge changes to eligible Pokémon.
