These digital rights are specific to each Xbox Blu-ray Disc. That means it belongs to the Xbox user who owns the disc. Renting or selling your disc to another Xbox user transfers your license, so you can continue to buy, sell, and trade Xbox titles. However, this feature only works with Xbox One and Xbox Series X game discs. This means Xbox 360 and Xbox 1 titles are not supported.
Xbox's disc conversion feature could soon be ready for public testing
Xbox's Project Helix consoles may not have disc drives at all, which could cause disc-based Xbox titles to not play on the new system. However, according to Windows Central editor and Xbox insider Jez Corden, a disc conversion method could be released in the coming days. Corden reposted a July 9 message from Xbox Insider program director Brad Rossetti, revealing that Xbox Insider flights had been paused for the first week of July. Rossetti said the pause was to give the Xbox Insider development team time to prepare a product that could arrive the week of July 16. Rossetti said the next flight will be worth the wait.

In response, Corden claimed that the next Xbox Insider preview build could include Positron, Xbox's development codename for the disc-to-digital conversion feature. Interested Xbox console users can test out upcoming Xbox console features by downloading the Xbox Insider bundle from the Microsoft Store and opting into the Xbox Update Preview to sign up. In the future, as Xbox joins PlayStation and becomes exclusively digital, the disc conversion method will allow some games to be played on Project Helix through backward compatibility.
