A new update preview for Insiders on Xbox consoles changes how playtime works and makes adjustments based on feedback recently collected through the Xbox Player Voice program. So far, the Xbox Player Voice program appears to have been a huge success. It's also been confirmed that Xbox fans want more exclusive games than anything else, but it's definitely not something that can be done in a few days. However, the way players receive information about their playing time varies.
The Xbox Player Voice program is designed as a place for Xbox players to submit feedback and requirements about the platform and for Xbox to respond accordingly. As the company stated, some ideas may move forward as requested, while others may not, or may take longer in some cases. This new change falls into the quick adjustments category, but comes from the Player Voice program.

Xbox insiders can now get a glimpse of the major changes to achievements, but everyone else will have to wait a little longer for the release.

That means Xbox Insiders can now preview the new OS update for Xbox consoles, specifically adjusting playtime from days to hours. The request and quick fix make perfect sense. Can my PlayStation friends tell me how many hours are left? Apex Legends I (as an Xbox player) have to sit down and use my handy calculator to convert days to hours. This isn't a game-changing console update or anything, but it's a small victory for the program and new Xbox CEO Asha Sharma.

Of course, this Xbox preview includes other updates before they are released to the wider audience. It also includes some bug fixes, including profile pages not displaying, icons losing focus when navigating menus, and other miscellaneous stability and performance fixes. Xbox engineers are also investigating new issues with Gamerscore badges and how some games are not showing up in the My Games & Apps collection. Overall, it's a small but meaningful update to the Xbox community.
Since Asha Sharma took over as CEO from Phil Spencer, she seems to be racking up quite a few small victories. The real test, though it may only be a preliminary test considering she hasn't even been CEO for 100 days yet, is the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase. Fans will want the right games released at the right time with the right messages, some of which are already set for 2026. But depending on how it plays out, it could be a pretty good year for Xbox in terms of brand identity and image.
