Xbox Elite Series 3 Controller Features Leaked

Xbox's Elite series controllers are some of the best controllers in the industry. It's sturdy, well-designed, and a really cool product. Although it is expensive. People have been waiting for quite some time to see what Microsoft has in store for the Elite Series 3, and thanks to Brazilian regulators, we're finally finding out ahead of schedule.

In fact, right next to the Elite Series 3 is another controller that appears to be geared heavily towards cloud gaming. Let's dive in.

technical specifications

Local regulator Anatel jumped the gun by posting the photos online. They've likely been deleted by now, but Tecnoblog brought them to their showcase and they've gone amazingly viral ever since.

Let's start with the cloud controller. Because it might be better to get out of the way. This is not a traditional design format and looks similar to 8bitDo's. It features 2.4ghz and 5ghz connectivity, advanced Bluetooth, and comes with a single USB-C port. The central button is likely to be the pairing function.

Now we eat meat and potatoes. The Elite Series 3 includes a pair of scroll wheels on the bottom. This could be leveraged to fine-tune more nuanced games, and if so, it's a welcome addition. Like other leaked controllers, it has a pairing button.

As The Verge points out, Anadel's filing strongly suggests that rechargeable batteries will be the play here, rather than the traditional battery-operated design that exists in Xbox's current lineup (miserably). No doubt this is at least partly a response to increasing European regulation of such practices.

Every year in June, gaming industry events are upon us, including Summer Game Fest and everything else Nintendo has in store. Xbox will have its own showcase on June 7, so it's a fair bet that the Elite Series 3 and its cloud-based cousin will be revealed then.

Final Fantasy 11's official website has finally been vaguely modernized.

Final Fantasy XI will never die. But the website definitely needed an overhaul.
