For casual players without a vault, this late-season adjustment makes a huge difference as contracts feel more viable and PvP combat feels less one-sided. Free kit of this quality shouldn't always be the standard, but green loses its value if it's always the default and should be desirable again when the season starts. This is a great approach for the final month before a reset is performed. The positive response to the change should say something for Bungie, too. This is because players like how they can boost their free Sponsored Kits.
Instead of the skill tree capstone being built around power-ups marathonIt would be nice to see Rooks (a solo option not utilized by all players) in place to make running the Sponsored Kit feel less miserable. This way, players can swap their white sponsorship kits for green one by one as they progress through priority contracts and faction upgrades. The Cyberacme capstone allowed you to get a green backpack, Arachne could provide you with a green gun, MIDA could provide you with explosives for your Runner, Nucal could provide you with green healing, and Sekgen could equip your Shell with a white core. marathon's free green kit is not only a timely change that proves Bungie has its finger on the pulse of the gaming community, but it could also be a more attractive gateway to track non-Rook users. Yes, it's still available for free for the first two months of Season 2, but hard-working players will be able to get those items a few weeks later to make it easier to fill up their coffers.

Marathon's 1.0.6.3 update brings other big changes
