When is Red Dead Redemption coming out?
The first Red Dead Redemption begins in 1911, when society and industrialization began to take over the American West. Marston is considered one of the last remaining cowboys of his time, and various hints of this can be seen throughout the game as the rest either retire, become prisoners, or are killed.
There are also subtle hints about the game's time period in the form of newspapers reporting the events of World War I and other important events around the world.
Undead Nightmare takes place in 1914, following the events of the game's main storyline.
Industrialization and World War I were two major factors that put America in the global spotlight, revitalizing its economy and allowing people to expand their society into the western frontier. This in turn makes the concept of gunslingers more difficult to achieve as the forces of the law and “polite society” expand.
What does this have to do with the series?
Red Dead Redemption 2 is a prequel and Red Dead Revolver takes place before the other two games, so chronologically speaking this makes it the latest game in the series.
