How to choose a career
Every time you start a new game, you can choose a class for your character. They go from unemployed to electric.

Choosing one will affect how you play for a long time, but it's worth mentioning that you can unlock a second, and even third, profession as you play. The second level requires level 30, and the third level requires level 60. However, keep in mind that you won't level up as quickly as in Early Access.

However, after choosing a job, you must choose your affinity for the character. Unless you want to make things harder from the start for some sadistic reason, I recommend skipping this step for the first few hours.
Starter zone, leave the rest aside for now
Another thing to choose before starting a new run is your spawn point. This basically determines where on the map it will spawn, which will greatly change the amount of resources and loot, nearby buildings, number of zekes, etc.
For beginners, simply select Starter Spawn. It may sound obvious, but there are so many options it can be a bit confusing. At the same time, if you want to start at a slightly higher difficulty level, check out our picks for the best spawn points.
Obtain or craft weapons as quickly as possible
You can take down zombies with your bare fists. You can take them down and then grab G to strangle them or perform a grab that will kill them in seconds. However, this special attack takes time, drains half your health, and leaves you vulnerable to other zombies. So it's only really viable when fighting one-on-one.
That's why it's really important to find or craft weapons as quickly as possible. It doesn't matter whether it's a firearm, an elaborate sword, or an improvised ax made from two stones. To defend yourself, you must have the appropriate weapon. Otherwise you want it to last long. Also, be aware that noise is a big factor in this game and attracts a lot of enemies.
The starting quest is great
Once you take the first step, you will notice a quest window in the bottom left corner of your screen. This is a beginner quest and will guide you step by step through simple tasks that will show you what you can craft and where to get the resources you need.
It may not seem very useful at first, but it's the type of hand grip that can really make a difference in these types of games.
If you don't want these quests and want to play at your own pace, you can disable them in the settings menu.
How the infection system works
Another thing that was reworked in version 1.0 is the way you get infected by zombies. Now, whenever you take damage from Zeke, your infection level begins to increase. This is indicated by a small green icon with a skull next to the health bar.
If a zombie only hits you, it will rise slowly, but if it grabs you and bites you, the gauge will fill up to half. Once you reach 100% you die.
This is why you need to take your fight against zombies seriously. There are ways to deal with the infection by using medicines that cure the infection by 50% or by using infection suppressants that gradually reduce the infection and reduce it.
Unlock as many skill trees as possible
If you played in Early Access, you'll notice that the skill system has changed in 1.0. Skills are now pinned after a job or category/group. In the latter case, you'll need to complete certain tasks within the game to view your group's skill tree and start unlocking upgrades.
For example, the bow skill tree asks you to craft one bow, one arrow, and kill 25 enemies with those weapons.
There are a few groups that can take hours to unlock, especially if you're playing the game for the first time. But by making this a priority, you can make your character much better in terms of combat, movement, survivability, building, and more.

The biggest feature of HumanitZ is inventory management. In addition to finding or crafting backpacks to increase the amount of items you can carry with you at all times, you can also craft storage containers that can hold many items. The best part? You can create multiple storage containers and place them inside any building you want.
To craft one of these you will need: 7 wood, 1 scrap metal, 10 nails.
