2025 has been a phenomenal year for animation and comics so far. Fans can enjoy the following absolutely massive anime releases: Solo Leveling Season 2 First up are some of the more interesting hits: Gachiakuta Get in line later. The comic aspect was great, and the general series continued. As always, there were winners and losers at the various award ceremonies held throughout the year.

Anime and manga fans always look forward to seeing which series will receive which title every year, and this year is no different, especially as the next generation of manga continues to go strong in 2025. 2025 Crunchyroll Animation AwardsFans have now turned to comics, and the results have certainly been interesting.
Most recently, the results of the Harvey Awards were finally announced, revealing a winner that surprised many. The winner of the 2025 Harvey Award for Best Comic Book was none other than Atelier Witch Hat.. Witch Hat Atelier is a known manga series, but has yet to become mainstream due to the lack of an anime adaptation.
With that said, one pieceThe world's biggest comic book didn't get the title, much to the dismay of many. One Piece wasn't even nominated.— It's not because you don't deserve it. The Harvey Awards are not complicated, and any series that released one book in the previous year can be nominated, including One Piece and pretty much any currently ongoing manga series.
One Piece wasn't simply selected by a nominating committee.And that may be because it can make the competition unfair to others. After all, One Piece is very mainstream with a very large and passionate fan base.
Harvey Awards With the exception of Witch Hat Atelier, this year's nominees also seem to favor more modest series, as they're somewhat low-key and not huge. These include: Summer Hikaru Dies and Windbreaker. If a series like One Piece were nominated every year, the competition would be fierce.

Witch Hat Atelier's animation could be made into a mainstream series on the level of Solo Leveling or Frieren.
Witch Hat Atelier wins Best Comic of 2025. The Harvey Awards will show how much potential this series has. Although the series started in 2016, it still No anime adaptation. The first anime season was scheduled to air this year, but was postponed to 2026.
Fans are certainly hopeful, but they're also worried about the final quality of the animated series. If the studio does the series justice, it could become a new mainstream series on the same level as Solo Leveling or Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. Fans will have to wait and see how it unfolds next year.
