one piece The Elbaf Arc looks to be one of the most important in the series so far, with many big moments and reveals that have fans eagerly waiting for more each week. Oda is good at knowing when to set up a situation and give readers a big payoff. So far, this issue has done a great job of keeping readers excited and guessing about future events.
It doesn't look like things will ever come to an end, but there have already been some major revelations across Elbaf. You might think it would be difficult to top some of the high points that came from Wano and Egghead, but Elbaf appears to be full of important reveals and setup for bigger reveals. Considering everything that has happened so far, this stands out as some of the biggest revelations made in the Elbaf Arc.
Garp's fate after attacking Hachinos
The legendary hero is not out of the game yet
Garp has long been considered one of the most powerful characters of his time, with Major Garp gaining legendary status for his exploits as a famous marine. So when the infamous Admiral began attacking Hachinos to rescue Kobe, fans expected to see Garp in full force. He did so, and his fight with Kuzan showed the old timer that he still had a lot of fight left in him, but he was eventually stabbed and defeated by his former student.
Some fans were worried that this would be the last they would see of Garp, but fortunately that wasn't the case. In the first chapter of the Elbaf Arc, it is confirmed that Garp survived the attack on the pirate fortress. Now a prisoner of the Blackbeard Pirates, Garp's fate is uncertain.
Zoro discovers that he can use the Great Haki.
The second strongest monster in the monster trio has become even stronger.
Zoro is without a doubt the strongest warrior of the Straw Hat Pirates, next to Luffy. Sanji is powerful in his own right, but the Straw Hat swordsman has been given time to shine. Fans already knew he was a force to be reckoned with, but Elbaf revealed something they didn't even know about Zoro.
In Chapter 1152, Scoper Gavan reveals that Zoro possesses the Haki King, much to the surprise of the oblivious first mate. Although Zoro received a reprimand from Gavan, we now know that he has a Haki Great and is one of the few One Piece characters confirmed to still be alive. This can be a huge advantage for the Straw Hats and the residents of Elbaf to block the Knights of God.
Halli Tree and Treasure Tree Ancient Mural of Adam
Key elements to understanding the history of One Piece revealed
Franky first mentioned Treasure Tree Adam in the Post-Enies Lobby Arc, and almost 20 years later, fans finally got to see it. While Ripley shows them around the tree, Lilith and Franky are led into an ancient facility that Lilith estimates is at least 3,000 years old. It's a huge revelation, but even more important are the ancient murals carved into the wood. The mural depicts excerpts from the Harley of Elbaf, an ancient text that describes various past events and contains prophetic riddles.
There was fire in the ground.
Humanity gave in to greed and touched the forbidden sun.
As the slaves prayed, the sun god appeared.
The Earth God became enraged and covered the world with death and darkness with hellfire serpents.
And they will never meet.
There was breath in the void.
The forest god tamed the demons and the sun spread the flames of war.
The people of Vandal had a dream.
The moon people had a dream.
Humans killed the sun and became gods, and the sea god created a storm.
And they will never meet.
There was emptiness in the chaos.
Uncomfortable, Remnant recalls the promised day and hears Vandal's voice.
The sun god dances and laughs and leads the world to the end.
The sun returns and brings a new morning.
And they will definitely meet.
Due to Harley's secretive nature, Saul says interpretation of the text varies greatly depending on who is reading and translating it. In this case, it's Robin. The text and murals certainly contain the answers to the secrets fans have been looking for. The question is how long it will take them to figure it out.
Shanks' family heritage confirmed
What fans speculated has become reality
Shanks has always been one of One Piece's most important characters, despite having largely played a background role in the narrative thus far. A huge reveal about the character came as his twin brother Shamrock was revealed to be one of God's knights. This confirms what was said in . One Piece Film: RED; Shanks is a member of the Garling Family, and Figarland Garling is Shanks and Shamrock's father.
Shamrock also drops the bombshell that Shanks is aware of his world-noble heritage and even gave up his family and birthright after briefly returning to Mary Geoise in the past. We learned more about the twins in a God Valley flashback, and it was revealed that they were born on an ill-fated island to a red-haired mother who was mercilessly disposed of by Garling a year after their birth. Shanks appears to be rescued by Dragon, but Shamrock is left to be raised by the corrupt world's nobility.
The story behind Rocks is revealed
Mysterious Rock Pirates aren't so mysterious anymore.
One of the most important things to come out of the Elbaf Arc so far was the incredibly detailed, chapter-long flashback sequence that revealed a lot about the former king of Elbaf, Harald, the events of God Valley, and the legendary Rocks D. Xebec.
Rocks has been a mysterious figure for a long time, and Oda's flashback not only answers many of the questions fans have had about him over the years, but also makes him one of the most likable characters in the series. Not only was Rocks revealed to be Blackbeard's father, but Oda confirmed that he was a member of the legendary Davy Clan and renamed himself Rocks, bringing down the world's government.
Rocks is one of the few people who knows about Imu, discovering him during his rampage with Mary Geoise. Rocks also sent his wife Eris and their son to hide in God Valley, a connection to what happened on the island during a native hunting contest.
We don't know everything about Loki's past
The Latest Straw Hat Candidate May Not Be What It Seems
The Elbaf people don't think very highly of Loki, and there seems to be a good reason for that. The disgraced prince is said to have murdered his father Harald, and boasts that one day he will “end the world.” With all this in mind, it's fair to consider Loki a villain, but Oda hinted that there's more behind Loki's actions.
Some of the extensive flashbacks we've seen from Elbaf so far show that Loki was neglected and abused by his mother and those close to her from birth because of his unusual eyes. This explains why Loki is so arrogant and combative. Loki is not evil. He is unable to form close bonds with those around him, including his half-brother and even his father. However, I think the real reason the Elbaf people see Loki as an irredeemable villain is because of his father's murder. Not everything about King Harald's death has been revealed, but what Oda has shown so far suggests that Harald fell victim to Imu's Domi Reversi technology. Confronted with his father in this state, Loki would have defeated him in self-defense or as an act of mercy. So why wouldn't Loki try to clear his name rather than be trapped in Elbaf's underworld for six years? There is definitely more for Oda to reveal, but we can assure you that we are not getting the full truth about Loki or his past.
God Valley incident comes to light
An event that will change the One Piece world forever
Oda revealed a bit about the God Valley incident in the Egghead Arc, but Elbaf shows the incident in its entirety, showing the major players, catalysts, and how it will affect future events in the series.
Shakky turns out to be the grand prize of a native hunting contest on the island, spurring Rocks and the Roger Pirates into action to rescue her. Rocks' true motivation for the attack is that the World Government announces the capture of a Davey Clan member for the first time in 800 years, and his father, grandmother, wife, and son are all caught in the middle.
Dragon's backstory is finally revealed to readers, revealing that he was a Marine stationed on the island at the time of the incident. Questioning the morality of the native hunting competitions, the Dragon rebels and attempts to save Shanks and Shamrock at the behest of his dying mother, while also trying to pacify the world's nobles who try to shoot the young mountain lion. We know that Shanks is able to escape the World Nobles' clutches, but Dragon ends up being injured by Satchels Maffey and is unable to save Shamrock.
Sensing that the situation is getting worse, Imu appears on the island possessing Saturn, surprising Garp, Roger, and Rocks. It was also revealed that Kaido stole Uouonomi (Model: Seiryu) from Big Mom, who intended to give it to Katakuri.
There's definitely a lot more to know about this case, but the last few chapters were a goldmine of information covering one of the most important events in One Piece history.
