One of the main reasons why fans love the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime anime series is due to its incredibly rich lore and fantastical world. Throughout his adventures, Rimuru comes across a plethora of beautiful landscapes, memorable locations, and, most importantly of all, unique and powerful races that have learned to coexist in this vast universe.
While the species introduced during TenSura have each managed to gain a place in fans’ hearts, there is no denying that they were not all equally powerful. Some races, whether due to their innate abilities or incredible physical capabilities, were able to dominate almost any fight in which they were involved.

Insectars Possess One of the Strongest Abilities in the World
Hidden deep inside the Demon Realm, the Insectoid race is composed of, as the name suggests, insect-like humanoids that were born for combat. Their magical ability is not the greatest, which would leave them unprotected in a world full of powerful arcane users, but they make up for this weakness with their exoskeleton. This natural armor is made of a metal-infused material, giving them one of the highest defensive stats in the series.
They are also one of the physically strongest species, capable of devastating blows that can instantly kill a regular fighter. Yet, their most useful trait is their virtual invulnerability to magical attacks, with only the greatest mages in the world being able to harm them by these means. Nonetheless, when faced against beings made of pure magic, their defenses and strength tend to falter, a major flaw in a world with such mighty warriors.

Elementals Harness Power From Nature Itself
Born from nature itself and imbued with some of the purest forms of magic in existence, Elementals are a race whose mastery over the environment has no equal. Due to their origin, these beings have absolute control over the element they are connected with, these being the typical water, air, earth, and fire. The Elementals also possess a major advantage over most other species, as their magic cannot be stopped by regular means.
Defenses like those of the Insectars do not serve against these beings, as their arcane powers are directly linked with the laws of physics. As such, unless a warrior can access an advanced form of magic nullification, the Elementals are almost guaranteed to succeed. Still, due to their connections with nature, it is quite easy to beat them as long as one can utilize spells of their opposite element.

Phantoms Thrive on Chaos and Corruption
Once Angels who mourned the death of their creator, the enigmatic and powerful Veldanava, Phantoms became corrupted by the magic of the destructive Ivarage. Their holy magic merged with the darkness and greed of the vicious creature they guarded, granting them a massive boost in both magical and physical abilities.
Due to their corrupted nature, Phantoms became almost boundless sources of magic, augmenting the capabilities of their innate holy techniques. The biggest limitation of this race is the lack of a physical body they can use to travel from the Other World, forcing them to rely on possession or the creation of a new form for them to inhabit. Nonetheless, once they have crossed the other side, they have the potential to become major threats to the world.

Angels’ True Strength Relies on Their Numbers
Beings of divine nature created to maintain order in the world, Angels are warriors whose unique nature and physiognomy make them innately strong. Although most members of this species tend to lack the will or ego necessary to act on their own, those who can acquire it can increase their power outstandingly fast. Their innate holy abilities also make them incredibly dangerous to several other races, as they hold an advantage against any dark creature.
While a regular Angel might not be as powerful as the most elite members of other species, their true power lies in the Armageddon ability, objectively one of the strongest in the entire That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime universe. By opening a gate, a member of this race can invoke millions of other soldiers to join their fight, giving them a virtually unbeatable army in just seconds.

Daemons’ Control Over Magic Is Top-Notch
When the spiritual beings of light, the Angels, came into existence, the shadows caused by their magic created shadows from which the creatures known as Daemons emerged. These creatures are the natural antithesis to the divine guardians, born with an innate ego and consciousness. Their magic is overwhelmingly effective against most other races, but Angels are particularly weak against their attacks.
While their abilities are similar to those of their luminous counterparts, besides the fact that they utilize darkness as a source, their true strength relies on their autonomy. Seeing as they are not a part of a hivemind, Daemons are capable of training and acting on their own accord, augmenting their abilities without any inhibitions. Combined with their lengthy existence, they can become massive threats to any unprepared opponent.

Manas Can Alter Reality Without Any Effort
Ultimate Skills are by far some of the most powerful abilities a fighter can have in the That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime series, as they grant the user control over the laws of nature itself. Despite being powerful on their own, an ability of this caliber that is honed by the owner has the possibility to develop sentience, evolving into information-based creatures known as Manas.
These synthetic lifeforms hold the entire power of the Ultimate Skill linked to their holder, granting them absolute mastery over the aspect of reality they represent. From being able to manipulate skills at will or even erasing beings by sending them to imaginary dimensions, these beings seem to be able to do anything. While their true power can only be manifested by working with another creature, the fact that they hold domain over the fabric of reality makes them a major threat.

True Giants Are the Epitome of Raw Power
A species of divine monsters that dwarfs most other races in terms of power and stature, the True Giants are the ultimate tanks. Their material bodies are extremely resilient, capable of clashing against the most powerful warriors in the series without receiving significant damage. Their strength is also legendary across the world, as it is said that only True Dragons can match it.
These traits made them nearly unstoppable fighters, who could face entire armies of the most powerful species and come out victorious. Besides these already mighty abilities, what made True Giants so fearsome is their unique skill known as Magic Nullifier, capable of completely preventing any magic from being used against them.

Dragonoids Possess the Best Qualities of Both Worlds
Considered by far one of the rarest species in the series, with only one example being introduced to the canon, Dragonoids are the children born of the union of a True Dragon and a human. While their appearance might drive many to confuse them with a regular member of the human race, as they can hide any of their draconian traits, they are proud and mighty fighters who inherited the best of both worlds.
In terms of raw power, there are only a handful of other species that could be capable of facing these monsters and surviving. Their magic is far superior to most other races due to the Star Dust, the strongest and densest source of power in the universe, which is naturally produced in their bodies. Most important of all is their latent potential, which is said to be hypothetically greater than that of the True Dragons.

Once thought of as boasting the epitome of power, the few known members of the True Dragon species are more akin to deities than regular beings. Their might and power can only be compared to those of a force of nature, creating life or bringing destruction anywhere they go. Their bodies are virtually immortal, able to withstand almost any attack and to rapidly heal from nearly any wound.
Their cores, brimming with power at all times, contain the purest magic in existence, granting them abilities that go far beyond human comprehension. In the unlikely case that one of these creatures would ever be killed, their souls have been proven to be immortal, meaning they will be reborn in a new body sooner or later. If not for the unique evolution achieved by Rimuru, these monsters would be the absolute rulers of the series’ world.

Throughout That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime, Rimuru proved to audiences countless times just how overpowered the ability to absorb opponents and their abilities truly is. The protagonist used this power to rapidly grow in strength, becoming one of the franchise’s mightiest creatures in record time. Near the end of the series, Rimuru achieved a final evolution that managed to surpass even the creators of the universe.
After perfectly merging with the energy of a True Dragon, the hero becomes the only specimen of the race known as Ultimate Slime. In this form, Rimuru became a being made of pure energy and information, becoming the equivalent of a universal force. His magic, strength, and abilities go far beyond what a mortal creature can even imagine, turning Rimuru into the ultimate being.
