If it wasn't already clear, Subnautica 2 isn't adding any kind of violence to the game even once its Early Access period begins. And if that's something you can't get behind, there are other games to play, a developer has revealed.
Specifically, if violence is what you're after, play Sons of the Forest.

If Wolfenstein 3 is real, we should finally be able to take down Hitler
According to recent reports, Wolfenstein 3 is in production by MachineGames.
As GamesRadar first discovered on Subnautica 2's official Discord, the developer essentially told players to kick lock if they're into violence.
“We're not a killing game. If you want to kill, try playing Sons of the Forest or something else,” a developer named Artie wrote on Discord.
If you're wondering what exactly Sons of the Forest is, it's apparently an ultra-violent survival game.
“Enter a world where nowhere is safe and fight against a variety of mutant creatures, both near-human and creatures you've never seen before. Arm yourself with pistols, axes, stun batons, and more to protect yourself and those dear to you,” the game's Steam description reads.
This response reportedly came after players asked about the lack of violence and modders suggested that might be the difference after all.
Depending on who you ask, a response may be guaranteed, or it could be an example of developers going too far in reacting to criticism and fan feedback.
“‘We want your feedback’ is not the same as ‘we will comply with all your requests,’” one user wrote. “If everyone goes into Early Access and says, ‘We want to make it FPS, but it’s like set on modern Earth,’ is it wrong to say, ‘Play COD instead?’”
Another called it “very rude.”
The Subnautica 2 developer has made some pointed comments before.
Subnautica 2 was leaked early before the game's official release, possibly due to unencrypted uploads on Steam, similar to what Forza Horizon 6 experienced, but not what happened with Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight on Xbox.
Either way, the developers were obviously not fans of the initially playable game.
“Thank you for pirating a game I’ve worked on for years,” one developer wrote on the same Discord. “I'm disappointed that you would do something like that when that's the way we live. I hope you reconsider your life choices.”
Whichever you choose, it's clear that Subnautica 2's developers won't hold back their opinions.
