This Steam Deck news comes as Valve recently provided some updates for some upcoming hardware. Notably, SteamOS developer Pierre-Loup Griffais recently told IGN that “everything is going well” as the company prepares for the upcoming Steam Machine release. Valve hasn't revealed a release date for the system, but has recently shared details about other upcoming products. Specifically, the company said the Steam Controller will be released on May 4th for $99. This latest peripheral gives players of Steam Deck and the upcoming Steam Machine new features for playing their favorite games at a lower price than some elite gamepads.
In addition to these updates, Griffais said that Steam Deck 2 is still in development, and that Valve is “working hard” on its future handheld gaming console. Unfortunately, there is no information on when this console will be released. At least SteamDeck will likely continue to receive support from the company in the meantime.
