A month ago, PlayStation reportedly halted plans for a PC port for its release. There was no official announcement to the public, but PlayStation Studios president Herman Hulst reportedly broke the news to employees at City Hall. Going forward, all single-player games will prioritize PlayStation over other platforms.
It may have had a rocky start, but over time, PC ports of PlayStation titles began to make great strides, giving PC gamers a chance to check out some of Sony's critically acclaimed titles on their platform of choice. Now it's over and I'm sad.

No matter how powerful the PlayStation 5 Pro is, it can't keep up with top-tier PC gaming rigs. With the 5090 running overdrive and usually some DLSS voodoo running in the background, these PlayStation PC ports performed sublimely, running at uncapped frame rates.
You don't truly appreciate the responsiveness and technical prowess of a game like this: spiderman 2 or Ghost of Tsushima Until I see it running at 120FPS+. Call it PC gamer snobbery, but once you experience it, it's hard to go back.
Likewise, I loved seeing PS5 versions of great games. Because I knew I would be seeing the game in full fidelity in about a year. 4K with everything turned to highest settings with minimal compromise. To be honest, I would normally have completed the game on PlayStation 5 and gotten Platinum, but I often found myself progressing much further on the PC version than I expected to see some of my favorite moments in the game.
Of course, this is mostly for comparison purposes, but there are plenty of people who would appreciate recording multiple gameplays and having a different experience on PC. Typically, the PC version also includes previously released DLC, so if you missed an add-on or expansion pack, you had a chance to see the new content on a second visit. Whatever your reason for checking out the PC exclusive PlayStation was all valid, now that reason is gone.

I know there could be an argument that if Sony pulls the plug on the PlayStation port, that means the product isn't selling well. And while the numbers show that to be true, I can still be disappointed with that decision. There was a market for the port, no matter how small, and those people will no longer have a chance to check out the game. And in an era where consoles are more expensive than ever, the prospect of simply buying a PlayStation 5 is easier said than done.
Maybe we'll see some games on PC, but for now it looks like Sony is preparing new plans for PlayStation. This isn't just a console exclusive, it's a full-blown exclusive. XBOX appears to be taking this stance on the console side by pulling out of the PS5 port, but there are still PC versions of its titles.
Sony made a change. That's Sony's prerogative. But it's a shame we don't know what games we like. wolverene or Intergalactic: Heretic Prophet It will look like it does on your PC. I guess we'll just have to wait for the inevitable PS6 version to get the closest approximation to this.
