DAKAR: Senegalese forces said on Saturday they had intercepted a boat carrying more than 200 migrants trying to reach Europe, after nearly 90 died earlier this month while attempting the dangerous Atlantic crossing. The boat, intercepted by patrol boats in a fishing ground near Rompoul, northwest Senegal, on Friday had 202 people on board, including five women and a minor. In early July, a boat carrying about 170 people capsized off the coast of Mauritania from Senegal, killing nearly 90 people.
