See Saros' PlayStation Trophy Clair Obscur: Expedition 33

It's been quite a while since we last had a big-budget PlayStation exclusive title. By our count, it was Ghost of Yotei last October. But that's about to change relatively soon, as Housemarque's Returnal sequel, Saros, is set to release on April 30th.

This paves the way for what could be an exciting 2026 for PlayStation fans, as Marvel's Wolverine, Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls, and Phantom Blade Zero are all set to release within the year.

Ghost Of Yotei is about Sucker Punch mastering the PS5 touchpad.

No one knows the PlayStation touchpad better than Sucker Punch.

Using a PlayStation controller hasn't felt this much fun since Infamous Second Son.

Now we're turning our attention to Saros, as his trophy list has been shared online ahead of launch, and one of the biggest things to point out is that there's a massive Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 reference in the middle.

According to a tally from Reddit and Insider Gaming, there will be a whopping 45 trophies for players to collect when the game launches. This is one step above Returnal's list of 38. Currently all we have is the trophy name and number, but no information on which one is bronze, silver or gold. That will likely change in the coming days once the list is fully released.

As far as the full list goes, most of it is fairly similar in process when it comes to trophy hunting, such as completing each act, defeating bosses, or using specific weapons or abilities.

What stands out, however, is the title “Carcosan Cartographe,” awarded for “completing 33 expeditions through the World Dial.”

Gee, we wonder where they got that reference. Of course, I'm not referring to last year's Game of the Year winner. Nonetheless, it would be interesting to find out where the inspiration comes from.

There are a few other neat references included in the list.

Clair Obscur: While the Expedition 33 reference is probably the most notable on the list, the rest of Saros has some rather interesting Easter eggs worth pointing out.

For example, “Bullet Paradise” is awarded after killing 1,995 normal enemies. Housemarque was founded in 1995, so it's pretty easy to reference. In that case, 'Break The Cycle', which is given after absorbing 2,021 projectiles with a shield, is a direct reference to Return Tal, Hausmark's last major title released in 2021. It also mentions the year Sony acquired Hausmark.

Lastly, Saros will likely have eight bosses, making it a more powerful game than Returnal.
