RIYADH: Project Masam members in Saudi Arabia cleared 670 explosive devices in various parts of Yemen last week. The latest report said the total included five anti-personnel mines, 47 anti-tank mines, 570 unexploded ordnance and 21 explosive devices. The initiative’s managing director, Usama al-Gosaibi, said a total of 453,968 mines had been cleared since it began in 2018. The explosive devices were planted indiscriminately and posed a threat to civilians, including children, women and the elderly.
