But while dozens of fantastic cards have already been revealed, the new Palafin ex may be one of the best yet. Designed by legendary manga artist Tetsuo Hara, Palafin ex is a fitting tribute to Hara's most famous work, Fist of the North Star.
Hara's newly designed card pays homage to the manga series that was later adapted into anime and video games, with Palafin punching. This is related to protagonist Ken's infamous attack, Hokuto Hyakuretsu Ken, or Hundred Rending Fists.
In this move, which can be a bit violent for a Pokémon, Ken throws over 100 punches, each aimed at his opponent's internal organs and causing them to explode.
But this isn't the first time Hara has designed cards for trading games. In 2022, Hara's work appeared on Magic The Gathering's Kaito Shizuki card from the Kamigawa: Neon Dynamise expansion pack, another card featuring the artist's signature design.
Pokemon Prismatic Evolutions is scheduled to be released in January 2025.
