13 iron blade

Type: Grass/Psychic

Iron Leaves is a Grass/Psychic-type Paradox Pokemon from Pokemon Scarlet & Violet. It was introduced as a special Tera Raid and is apparently a future version of Virizion. This Pokémon is, oddly enough, the only Pokémon that can learn the Psyblade move, which is its only damaging Psychic-type attack.

It is a variant of a legendary Pokémon, but has no such name. While Iron Leaves are still incredibly powerful, there are numerous weaknesses to keep in mind. Its incredible speed and attack stats are easily countered by Flying, Poison, Bug, Ghost, Fire, Ice, and Dark type attacks.

12 Watchen

Type: Dark/Grass

Treasures of Ruin are a group of legendary Pokémon found in the Paldea region in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Wo-Chien is the Dark/Grass type member of the quartet. It may not be as useful as other Pokemon, but as a legendary Pokemon it will beat most non-legendary creatures.

There are a whopping seven weaknesses, most of which are very common in Paldea. Fortunately, Wo-Chien's base defense is 100 and his special defense is 135. This allows him to retaliate after taking some damage with his powerful signature attack, Ruination. When Ruination lands, the target's HP is reduced by half.

11 Arboliva

Type: Grass/General

Arboliva offers a unique combination of Grass/Normal types, and stands out as one of the few Pokémon with this unusual combination. Arboliva, the final evolution of Smoliv that Dolliv can obtain once he reaches level 35, gains immunity to Ghost-type skills due to his normal typing. This is a handy advantage in combat. However, this type combination increases vulnerability, making you vulnerable to a variety of types.

Although Arboliva is not built for physical attacks, it truly shines in the Special Attack and Special Defense categories. With a base special attack stat of 125 and a special defense stat of 109, he can perform powerful moves from a safe distance, effectively support his team with energy-based attacks, and defend himself defensively.

10 Todd Skrewell

Type: Land/Grass

Despite its similarity to Tentacruel, Toedscruel is not a Paldean regional form, but an entirely different species of Pokémon. This unique Ground/Grass-type Pokémon evolves from Toedscool at level 30, giving any team a distinct advantage. The typing grants immunity to Electric-type attacks. This is an important perk for players looking to round out their type coverage without picking up a Grass type starter.

Toedscruel is also a fast Pokémon that has access to a diverse moveset, including moves that counter its type weaknesses. This versatility and early-game availability makes Toedscruel a viable addition to your team and a solid option for dealing with Electric and Rock-type enemies.

9 Bramble Guest

Type: Grass/Ghost

Brambleghast joins the ranks of Grass/Ghost Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, bringing a unique twist to the lineup. To obtain this Ghostly Tumbleweed, catch Bramblin and use the Let's Go feature to evolve it by taking 1,000 steps before leveling it up. Once evolved, Brambleghast reveals itself to be a swift attacker with powerful base attack stats.

The most notable feature is the unique ability ‘Wind Rider’. This ability grants Brambleghast an attack boost whenever he is hit by a Wind-type move or whenever his opponent uses Tailwind, turning him into an unexpected powerhouse. The combination of speed, attack strength, and situational buffs makes Brambleguest a versatile addition to players looking to surprise their opponents.

8 Ripeon

Type: Grass

Leafeon, Eevee's Grass-type evolution, is often overlooked among its peers, but this underestimation does it a disservice. Trainers can evolve their Eevee into a Leafeon by leveling it near a Moss Rock or using a Leaf Stone, making it a relatively accessible choice compared to the rarer Eevee evolutions. Ripeon's outstanding offensive and defensive abilities make him a valuable asset to those who give him a chance on the team.

If you're lucky, you can catch wild Tera Leafeon in the mountains west of Los Platos and near Casseroya Lake.

Boasting a base speed stat of 95, Ripeon is often faster than his opponents, allowing him to attack first and maximize his 110 base attack damage. With a base defense of 130, Lipia can withstand physical attacks better than many grass types and can even defend her position. This combination of speed, strength, and durability makes Ripeon a powerful warrior ready to take on a variety of challengers.

7 Abomasnow

Type: Grass/Ice

Abomasnow is one of the scariest Pokémon, embodying a powerful yet dangerous mix of Grass and Ice types. Evolving from Snover at level 40, Abomasnow offers balanced stats and access to a variety of moves, making it an especially strong choice for Dragon types. Its menacing appearance and ability to whip up blizzards add to its reputation as a fierce competitor.

But Abomasnow's strengths come with significant weaknesses. With weaknesses to Fighting, Flying, Poison, Rock, Bug, and Steel-type attacks, and a double weakness to Fire-type attacks, careful planning is key to keeping Abomasnow safe in combat.

6 Scovillean

Type: Grass/Fire

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet introduced the first Grass/Fire type to the franchise. Scovillain is the only one of its kind and evolves from Capsakid when exposed to a Fire Stone. This unique creature is known as the Spicy Pepper Pokémon, its name derived from the word Scoville, which measures the heat of a pepper.

Combining the two types greatly reduces its weaknesses, making it weak only to flying, poison, and rock type attacks. In battle, the base for both attack and special attack is 108. This allows you to utilize a variety of moves against your opponents.

5 Broome

Type: Grass/Fighting

Introduced in Generation 3, Breloom is a powerful Grass/Fighting type that evolved from Shroomish at level 23. Despite its humble origins as a Mushroom Pokémon, Breloom brings an intensity to battle that few Grass types can match. Their unique type combinations and ferocious fighting style have made them popular in both games and anime series, often appearing as relentless rivals.

Broome demonstrates excellent performance as a Rockterra type by complementing the weaknesses of typical types such as Flying, Psychic, and Fairy while also improving its attack ability.

When building an offensive team, Breloom is an ideal choice as it provides relentless attack, especially if you are looking for a grass type. While the other stats may be average, Breloom's base attack stat of 130 is incredibly high, surpassing heavy hitters like Gyarados, Heracross, and even Legendary Terrakion. With access to powerful moves like Spore and Mach Punch, Breloom offers a combination of high attack power and versatility.

4 Appletoon, Flap, Deeplin

Type: Grass/Dragon

Appletun, Flapple, and Dipplin are all unique evolutions of Applin, each representing a different aspect of the Grass/Dragon type combination. Although they have the same base stat total of 485 and type effects, the stats are distributed differently, giving each a unique role in combat.

Appletoon, which evolved into Sweet Apple, is a slow but bulky special attack type that focuses on special attacks. Flapul, which evolves into a tart apple, has fast speed and is suitable for physical attacks, and has a high attack ability and excellent attack power. Lastly, Dipplin, which evolved using Syrup Apples, acts as a high-defense tank, designed to withstand hits and support the team through its durability.

3 brute bonnet

Type: Grass/Dark

Brute Bonnet is a Paradox Pokémon introduced in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet. This is a Scarlet exclusive from the past. Paradox Pokemon are past and future iterations of existing Pokemon, but are considered their own species in the Pokedex.

Brute Bonnet is a Pokemon Scarlet exclusive. If you have Pokemon Violet, you'll need to add it to your team by trading it with a friend or joining a game.

You'll find Amoongus' Grass/Dark variant in post-game content. If you get a chance to catch it, it may be set as a grass type for your team. But the Brute Bonnet should not be overlooked. Although it is slow, its base attack power is 127 and its base HP is 111.

2 Ogerfon

Ogerpon is a legendary Pokémon from Kitakami that is central to the DLC's main story. It lacks evolution, but makes up for it with the ability to switch between four unique forms, each corresponding to a different mask. Each form changes Ogerpon's type and Terastallization, making it adaptable to different combat situations and a flexible addition to any team.

In addition to its versatile form, Ogerpon is currently the only Pokémon that can use Ivy Cudgel, a powerful physical move with 100 base power and perfect accuracy. This move automatically changes Ogerpon's type to match the mask he is currently wearing, allowing him to counter specific threats while also taking advantage of his STAB (same-type attack bonus), making Ogerpon a powerful and adaptable opponent.

1 Meow Scarada

Type: Grass/Dark

In Pokemon Scarlet & Violet, the Grass-type starter Sprigatito evolves into Floragato before reaching its final form, Meowscarada, at level 36. At this stage, you get a Dark type along with Grass, giving you a unique Grass/Dark type that adds both. Versatility and offensive power.

Meowscarada excels at speed and strength, boasting an incredible base speed stat of 123 and an impressive base attack stat of 110. This is an ideal choice for fast, high-damage attacks. The signature move, Flower Trick, utilizes Meowscarada's abilities in combinations that never miss and always result in critical hits. Combined with the same-type attack bonus, this move becomes a powerful weapon, ensuring Meowscarada stands out as a strong choice in any team lineup.
