The expanded official description for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Remake, which can be found in the metatext of the game's website, suggests that the original's gameplay remains largely the same.
Last week was full of game announcements thanks to various showcases, including the massive Nintendo Direct earlier this week. Even though Nintendo put on a long show, I think most people would agree that it was pretty much the weakest one. Fortunately, everything changed at the last minute.
Not only do we suddenly have a new trailer for Kingdom Hearts 4, but the recent massive rumor that Nintendo is working on a Legend of Zelda remake was confirmed by a teaser for Ocarina of Time. Sadly, we haven't seen much more than a divisive new design for young Link, but a newly discovered description gives us a better idea of what to expect.
The Ocarina of Time remake features “timeless gameplay” and suggests it's mostly the same.
An extended description can be found on Google Blurb.
As pointed out by Redditor Lousy_Username on the GamingLeaksAndRumours subreddit, an unreleased and extended description for the Ocarina of Time remake has been discovered. This ad can be found by Googling the name of the game, and the official Nintendo site will pop up with an explanation that it hasn't been released yet.
The description states that players will be able to experience the game with “amazing visuals, updated design, and timeless gameplay.” It's not much more detailed than the description Nintendo released, but it gives us a better idea of what the remake will actually bring to the table. For reference, the official description simply says, “A legend is reborn.”
The N64 classic is reborn as a complete remake for Nintendo Switch 2. Experience Ocarina of Time with stunning visuals, updated design, and timeless gameplay.
The stunning visuals and updated design have already been seen in the reveal trailer, but the “timeless gameplay” is a big hint that the remake will play very similar to the original game. Nintendo is calling it Timeless, suggesting that even with more connections, it mostly keeps Ocarina of Time's gameplay mechanics intact rather than overhauling it or making it more similar to Breath of the Wild.
Of course, that doesn't mean Nintendo won't change. nothing As for Ocarina of Time, it's likely that it will bring some quality of life improvements, or at least features added to the 3DS remake. We won't know for sure until we actually see it, but the extended blurb is the most concrete information we've got about the game so far.

Why I struggle to give Ocarina of Time a remake a chance.
Remaking Ocarina of Time feels like the point of no return, not just for Nintendo, but for all video games.
