There's a new rumor that Nintendo Switch 2 users can expect a new version of the famous RPG in the near future.
Fake Pragmata Cartridges Broke My Nintendo Switch 2
Over at Resetera, a gamer named jokkir explained that he purchased a new Capcom game. pragmata Amazon has a Switch 2 that can no longer read game cartridges. According to the jokkir, they found the cartridges for sale in the Amazon Resale category, formerly called Amazon Warehouse, which often sells items at lower prices. These items are usually returned or used and sold at a lower price. Jokkir thought he was getting a good deal since the game costs $56CAD instead of $80CAD, but when he inserted the cartridge into the system, it didn't work. When I tried to remove the cartridge the cartridge got stuck and I had to pry it out of switch 2.

Upon closer inspection, Jokkir discovered that the cartridges were fake. At first they believed there was a pin stuck in the console, but after a thorough investigation they discovered there was no pin in the first place. The cartridge was just a plastic shell with no real “guts” inside. However, as a result, the Nintendo Switch 2 no longer reads physical game cartridges. Any cartridges they own are now unusable, and while Amazon may refund fake cartridge purchases, it's unlikely they will be held responsible for damaged consoles.
Other gamers expressed sympathy for the situation, with many saying they would inspect new Switch cartridges carefully before purchasing them in the future. Others have warned that issues like this can happen with all kinds of resellers, with some reports showing that games were previously purchased from Amazon Warehouse and weren't inspected before being sold again.

The paint caused a jam when I inserted the cartridge, and when I tried to pry it out, the cartridge broke and part of it was stuck in the port. A Nintendo Switch 2 system with a damaged cartridge port may still function normally with digital games, but losing the ability to read cartridges would be very unfortunate, especially if you've already purchased many physical titles.
