Nintendo has confirmed what many gamers feared was coming, raising the prices of its Switch 2 console and some of its services in several regions.
Nintendo gives back to its employees
Nintendo President Shuntaro Furukawa announced a salary increase at Nintendo's recently held annual general shareholders' meeting. One investor said Nintendo does not have a labor union and wanted to know what the company was doing to compensate its employees. Furukawa responded that he believes it is important for Nintendo to maintain salaries and compensation at an “appropriate level.” As a result, Nintendo's base salary increased by a whopping 10%. This is good news for the industry and game developers as the industry as a whole is suffering from numerous layoffs and the complete closure of several game studios.
