Gearbox Software has revealed a ton of new content coming soon. Borderlands 4Paid and free content will be released next week, teasing a second DLC Vault Hunters known as Loveless, scheduled for release in September. 2026 has been a busy year for Gearbox and the company so far. Borderlands 4 The company released Bounty Pack 2 and its first major story expansion earlier this year, introducing the game's first post-launch Vault Hunter called C4SH.
while Borderlands 4 Although it seemed to get off to a fast start when it launched in September 2025, one of the main criticisms levied at the game was its lengthy content and update drought, one of which the Horrors of Kairos mini-event seemed insatiable to fill. With technical issues, player complaints about nerfs to popular abilities, and declining player numbers, things weren't going well. But thanks to the revised edition, the situation seems to have turned around. Borderlands 4 Not only has Bounty Pack 1 arrived earlier than expected, but the post-launch roadmap is completely free. From there, Gearbox continued to add more content, and now players can expect more starting next week.
Borderlands 4 Launches June 25th Zane To Kill For
In a new blog post, Gearbox laid out its plans for the coming week, revealing two major post-launch content updates starting on June 25th. The first is Bounty Pack 3, a paid content pack called A Zane to Kill For. This pack takes players into the digital realm to find out who killed Zane's Digi-Clone. As revealed in the trailer, players will use Zane's personal arcade machine called Private Dick to explore a neon-filled, noir-style city while fighting new Glitched enemies who can change locations during combat to keep Vault Hunters on their toes.

Naturally, players will have a lot to pursue in this content as well. Bounty Pack 3 includes an all-new pearlescent weapon, six new Legendary loot, and the Vault Hunter skin, vehicle, and cosmetics for ECHO-4. The Bounty Pack also continues the Vault Card system as follows: Borderlands 4Players can complete challenges to earn cosmetic items and four pieces of “rerollable” legendary gear.
A day later, on June 26th, Borderlands 4 We are releasing a free content update called Takedown at Hadron Abyss. This is designed to be an end-game challenge similar to: Borderlands 4Attack of Bloomreaper the Invincible. However, in this content, players will explore a new zone called the Hadron Abyss. This area is a submerged laboratory that is slowly collapsing and is inhabited by the area's boss, the Child of Terramorphous. There is no farming here and spawn points are few and far between, requiring players to work together to overcome them. Borderlands 4's most difficult content to date. Naturally, there are plenty of new weapons and equipment to chase down, and for those looking for more of a challenge, there are a variety of challenge levels that can be activated to increase enemy health and damage.

Version 1.8 also allows players to purchase DLC in two ways. Instead of an all-or-nothing approach, Borderlands 4 Players can purchase Bounty Pack 3: A Zane to Kill For separately from the Vault Card 3 DLC. Both are priced at $5.99 each, and Gearbox plans to do this in future DLC packs as well. Gearbox is also considering a method similar to the one released previously. Borderlands 4 There is DLC, but no specific plans yet.
But these two pieces of content aren't the only big reveals. Similar to what Gearbox revealed with C4SH almost six months ago. Borderlands 4The studio also revealed a second character after launch. Loveless, the Hacker is set to release with Story Pack 2 in September, and according to Gearbox, she's a former Ansin hacker turned assassin. Details are still a bit sparse, but Loveless has a kit that includes cybernetic-style weapons and a digital worm-like virus that shares his mind. Overall, it looks like Loveless will offer a lot of variety to fans when it releases in a few months.
