If you need another reason to revisit Resident Evil Requiem, Capcom has just the thing for you, as the developer has shadowdropped a new mini-game mode titled “Leon Must Die Forever.”
It's free, and you can use it right now if you've already completed Requiem's main campaign.
Capcom previously teased the existence of a new game mode, with director Koshi Nakanishi and producer Masato Kumazawa urging fans to complete the game by Golden Week.
As they said, the mod has been dropped.
The official YouTube trailer description is as follows:
Unlocked by completing the story, this additional mini-game mode requires you to clear numerous stages as Leon while unlocking exclusive enhancement abilities. The fast-paced action is different from the main story mode and is packed with replay value. Can you survive within the time limit and defeat the boss until the end?
Multiple difficulty levels are available, including an extremely difficult mode for only the most confident players. As the title suggests, ‘die forever’…
As mentioned in Vice's piece, players will go through 20 levels before reaching the final boss battle with Victor. The approach is almost roguelike, as death is permanent and the weapons and abilities you have access to are completely random. Also, the more you create, the more difficult it becomes.

Resident Evil Requiem's final puzzle is a video game mystery worth playing
Players have finally reached the bottom of Resident Evil Requiem's final puzzle.
Interestingly, this isn't the first time Capcom has added a post-launch mode featuring the “Must Die” tagline.
Resident Evil 7: BioHazard had a similar mode called “Ethan Must Die”, where players had to explore a house with a random supply of weapons and items, limited space, and dozens of traps before confronting Marguerite.
Likewise, Resident Evil Village's Village of Shadows made an already very difficult title much more difficult.
In other words, Capcom loves to cause pain and see which of us is brave and skilled enough to clear the most difficult Resident Evil experiences.
Despite the addition of “Leon Must Die Forever,” there's still plenty of content in the pipeline for Requiem, including actual DLC. Now we have something free and fun to occupy us.
