Five surfboard positions for a new beginning
Surfboard #1
- Current goals: Chase Detective Plath
Play as Jim Gordon and follow the main path until you gum up the cogs to prevent the yellow containers from crushing you. To find Surfboard #1 near the cart you need to move, pass under that container and look to the left.
Surfboard #2
- Current goals: Chase Detective Plath
Continue along the main path and you'll reach a short cutscene where Flass spins a hanging green container. As soon as you regain control, look to your right and you'll see a surfboard standing in the corner.
Surfboard #3
- Current goals: Chase Detective Plath
Continue along the main path and use Gordon to block the fast-moving green containers. Just beyond the crates you'll find enemies with guns, and Surfboard #3 is right in front of you, at the bottom of the ladder.
Surfboard #4
- Current goals: Chase Detective Plath
After defeating the enemies with your gun, go through the small warehouse and turn left where there is an ice cream truck. Follow the gold stud path to find a surfboard leaning against the wall near the water.
Surfboard #5
- Current goals: Build something that can reach Flass.
When you start building the battering ram, look for the final surfboard in the right corner of the machine. Make sure you destroy it and dispose of all other collectibles before talking to Flass. Because once you start talking to Flass, there is no going back.
New beginning red brick location

- Current goals: Build something that can reach Flass.
When you reach the area where you need to build a battering ram, use the grapple to climb onto the building with the yellow and black sign to the left of the machine. Go through the roof to find a nautical red brick collectible.
What does nautical red brick do?
Nautical Red Bricks can be applied to clothing and vehicles to give them a dark blue, turquoise, and yellow color scheme.
New Beginnings Collection Rewards
Destroying all five surfboards will earn you the Surfboard Trophy, which you can use to customize your Batcave hideout.
Will we be seeing the Docks section of New Beginnings again for collectibles we missed?
Yes, you can replay New Beginnings later, so none of your collectibles will be permanently missing. However, if you move too fast you will miss most of the surfboards and red bricks on your first run.
