As confirmed by Pokemon.com, the next season will be Pokemon Legends: ZA Ranked battles will begin in the late hours of Wednesday, April 22, 2026 (or early morning, April 23, if you are not on the West Coast). Players can compete in four-player real-time online battles with trainers from around the world, rising through the ranks as they play. You start at Rank Z and move up to Rank A, receiving battle rewards at the end of each battle, promotion rewards as you advance through the ranks, and seasonal rewards when the season ends in May.
Pokemon Legends Basics: ZA Rank Battles
The time limit for ranked battles is 3 minutes, and each time a Pokémon faints, the player returns to the starting point of the battlefield with the Pokémon fully recovered. Players can only trade their active Pokémon three times before it is KO'd, at which point the limit is reset. Players are then ranked from 1st to 4th based on the number of Pokémon they have defeated (and their specific actions). This determines the number of points you earn in each match, and you will be promoted once you reach the maximum number of points in your current ranking.
Season 10's list of eligible Pokemon includes Lumiose Pokedex numbers 1-227 and 231 and Hyperspace Pokedex 001-127, 131, and 132. Pokémon can be registered if they are level 1, level 100, or anywhere in between, but all Pokémon are set to level 50 in battle. In rank battles, you cannot use multiple collection numbers, and you cannot use items you own multiple times. Pokémon excluded from rankings are as follows:
