Into The Unwell is skipping early access in favor of a full release in 2027.

Viral indie Into The Unwell, which had previously targeted an early access launch this year, has not “announced” such plans and is instead planning a full release in 2027.

There seems to be an endless stream of exciting indie games out there, but there's one game in particular that's captured my heart since it was first revealed. It's Into The Unwell. Rubber Hose's visuals were immediately intriguing, but it was the PS2-esque melee and dark sense of humor that really grabbed me.

Last year I had the opportunity to go hands-on with Into The Unwell and was so excited that I wanted to find out when the planned Early Access date was. We'll have to wait a while, though, as Into The Unwell is skipping ahead to a full release and pushing its release date forward to 2027.

Into The Unwell, Early Access Release “Unannounced”

It is now expected to launch sometime in 2027.

Today Into The Unwell's developer She Was Such A Good Horse and publisher Coffee Stain Publishing said the game was “unannounced”. If that baffles you as much as it does me, don't worry. What that means in practice is that Into The Unwell will no longer be released in Early Access this year, but will instead be released in full in 2027.

The trailer above shows that “Unannounced” has to be one of the best things I've ever seen.

Mårten Stockhaus, creative director of Into The Unwell, says that having a full release means the team is “preoccupied with releasing a full game that's as good as we can make it when it actually launches.” Early build times for the game have already been positive enough, so I'm sure giving more time to cooking is a good thing.

For those of you who don't remember or haven't seen how popular the game has become recently, Into The Unwell debuted at last year's Summer Game Fest with a memorable trailer showcasing its dark humor and rogue-lite brawler gameplay. We get another glimpse of it in an unreleased trailer, and it looks even sharper than before.
