While discussing the recent reveal of a new Spyro the Dragon game and Xbox's handling of Activision's classic lineup, VGC's Jordan Middler heavily hinted that a remake of The Simpsons: Hit & Run is “happening.”
Love it or hate it, remakes and remasters have become a big part of the gaming industry. Numerous developers and publishers are revisiting old games and diving into their back catalogs to attract audiences. But there's one game that almost everyone picks first for a remake. It's The Simpsons: Hit & Run.
Hit & Run has earned a reputation as one of the best licensed games since its release in 2003, and even though The Simpsons itself has lost some of that fame over the years, Hit & Run has always remained high on the fan request list. But that dream may not be as far-fetched as we all thought. Because a trusted insider has suggested that the dream is actually happening.
VGC's Jordan Middler Is Working On A Hit And Run Remake
“It’s something that everyone absolutely desperately wants.”
VGC: In the most recent episode of the Video Game Podcast, trusted insider Jordan Middler discussed the state of Activision's back catalog following the announcement of Spyro: A Realm Beyond at the Xbox Games Showcase. Middler says the next step for Activision is to bring back some of its licensed games, including Hit & Run, of course.

The next Simpsons game won't be a hit-and-run remake
Simpsons Hit & Run is a much-requested remake, but a new Simpsons game is exactly what we need.
Middler says “something everyone desperately wants is happening,” which seems like a big nod to a potential Hit & Run remake. There are plenty of classic Activision games that would be suitable for a remake, but Middler made the teaser a bit clearer by saying on the podcast that the creators will be “hit-and-run” there.
I think the next step for Activision is to bring in more licensed content, including creating new versions of licensed games, which is one very important task. Something everyone desperately wants is happening. – Jordan Midler
Considering how long ago Hit & Run was released, many people suspected a remake would happen, but there have been a few recent developments that make it seem a little more plausible. Original developer Radical Entertainment recently reorganized into New Radical Games, and has already started a lot of rumors (cola) about Hit & Run potentially returning.
