How to Unlock Season 3 Hardware in Battlefield 6

While the new maps and weapons are the main attraction, players shouldn't ignore the new hardware they can unlock. Currently only one is available, but if Season 2 is any indicator, we could see more releases in the coming weeks. Here's everything you need to know about how to unlock Season 3 hardware and what it does.

How to unlock Season 3 hardware

For those unfamiliar, hardware is a term used in Battlefield to describe the various attachments you can unlock for your weapons. Most gun attachments must be unlocked on a weapon-specific basis; Seasonal weapons will be unlocked for every eligible gun you currently have unlocked. This provides a bit more flexibility for those who really prefer certain hardware on their gun.

Currently in Season 3, players can unlock the following hardware along with their respective features:

To unlock these attachments, you must complete the corresponding challenges, such as getting 40 kills with a carbine or SMG to earn Burst Fire. There is no other way to obtain these attachments, so you'll need to complete each challenge to get all four. Plus, since the challenges have to be done sequentially, you can't focus on what you want first.

Progress is only calculated once the challenge is unlocked. That said, it doesn't matter how many kills you get with an assault rifle unless you've unlocked Burst Fire. After participating in the Aftermarket Burner Challenge, you still need 40. This can make unlocking everything a bit tedious, so it's important to use the right weapon for each challenge to make sure your kills actually count.

You can check your challenge progress at any time by going to the Challenges tab in the main menu (or in-game) and selecting the “Season” subtab. Make sure you're in season 3. You will then be able to see all your progress so far and the four hardware challenges you are currently running.

As for actually completing them, none of these are as difficult as some of Battlefield 6's original challenges. Most can be completed in a few matches, but you'll need to choose the right mode or battlefield to speed up progress. For example, Breakthrough modes in Hagental Base or Empire State are great for Burst Fire and Aftermarket Burner challenges because they are very close zones.

If you're having trouble getting kills with a sidearm, I recommend using the M45A1 or M44. Both of these hit pretty hard, so if you're accurate you can easily secure a kill. VZ for people without big goals. The 61 is a good alternative because it is fully automatic and can penetrate people at close range.

Once you complete a hardware challenge, you'll find it in your customization menu where you can equip your gun with various attachments. Remember, this all comes down to the ergonomics of the gun and not all hardware will work on all weapons.
