If you could get to the castle lost castle 2If so, you've probably met a strange new character named Nia. The game initially depicts her as an amnesiac girl, who brings her to camp after making significant progress on one of her runs.
Contrary to what you see online, you don't actually need to defeat the final boss to encounter Nia, but she won't accomplish any objectives until you defeat the boss. Until then, she'll be hanging out at your camp with an unnamed purpose that won't be revealed until the final boss is dealt with.
What is Ethereal Nightmare mode and how to unlock it
Ethereal Nightmare mode is basically New Game+ or Post-Game Content Lost Castle 2. After defeating the Demon Sealer Steward and the subsequent Demon Boss in Black Castle.You will head back to camp and successfully complete your first full run. When you get back to the camp, go to Nia who is standing in the center of the camp next to the Ethereal device.
You'll be prompted that Nightmare Mode has been unlocked, and you'll also be able to watch a cutscene introducing Nia if she hasn't already been around the camp before. Talk to Nia and ask to use the Ethereal device.Clicking will bring up a screen showing the various debuffs you can apply to your next run and how Ethereal Nightmare will affect your run.
The difficulty options in the basic part of the game are Easy and Normal, so you can: Think of this as the hard mode of the game.
When applying a debuff, a number will appear at the top of the bar that fills when the debuff is applied. This number is the depth of the Ethereal Nightmare. Entering each depth requires a set number of debuffs, but each depth must be completed to unlock the next.. So even if you think you're ready to jump to Depth 3, you won't be able to do so without clearing Depths 1 and 2 first.

This mod is entirely It is designed to test your ability to create a fully fleshed out and cohesive build.. You can beat the initial run with a random combination of items, but this isn't the case in Ethereal Nightmare Mode and you'll need to have a functional build strategy to complete it. Doing so will reward you with rare resources and permanent build upgrades.
It's a good idea to work on a tank build, but there are a variety of builds that would work. there will be Achievements for unlocking and completing each depth of Ethereal Nightmare Mode.
