Players can enjoy catching winter Pokémon, but a new Shiny variant has been introduced during this event, and players can also catch Pokémon dressed in winter or holiday outfits during this event. This is not limited to Pokémon that spawn in the wild, but also applies to raid battles.

Pokemon GO Holiday Event Part 1 Information

During the event, players will receive double XP when catching Pokémon, which is perfect since a new Shiny variant of Sandygast was also introduced during the event. This is the first time this Shiny has appeared in the game. Players will also have 1/2 the hatch distance for eggs placed in incubators during the event.
