The wait for the third trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 is definitely getting to us all. That's because a new theory points to a license plate in a new GTA 5 screenshot that states the release date.
It might not feel like much considering it's been almost a year since we got the second trailer for GTA 6, but new news from Rockstar Games is getting closer. Take-Two's CEO previously confirmed that marketing would begin at some point during the summer, and in a recent interview he provided a few minor updates to guide us through the whole thing.
But the question still remains. When exactly will the new trailer for GTA 6 come out? We won't know until Rockstar speaks honestly, but that doesn't stop fans from coming up with outrageous speculations based on frankly minimal evidence. It's happened again, with a slew of new theories emerging based on license plates in GTA Online screenshots.

This week's wild theory is based on a screenshot shared in one of Rockstar's latest Newswire posts. The post has a section about the Big Minimus Energy emblem, which includes a screenshot showing a GTA Online character next to a car. This has been a standard Newswrite post so far. Right? Well, that is until you take a closer look at the license plate.
As Twitter user GTAVI_Countdown points out, the most basic version of this new theory is based on the fact that there is a small sticker in the upper left corner of the license plate that simply says “May.” For some, this is a secret message from Rockstar hinting at when an update for GTA 6 will be coming.
This has already been achieved to some extent, but the theory has gone further. On the GTA 6 subreddit, SARQCLOTHINGUK suggested that the numbers and letters on the license plate actually refer to May 15th. Combining 8 and 7 gives 15, KGW can be changed to GTA, 06 obviously means GTA 6, and the 3 at the end means the third trailer. Yes, really.
To be fair, I don't think it's unrealistic to expect an update to GTA 6 in May. I just don't think this license plate has anything to do with Rockstar's plans.
I honestly can't decide if I'm impressed by how far these ideas go, or if I'm worried about people trying to find clues in everything Rockstar does. The moon theory, Jason's clock, car braille and all the other GTA 6 theories should prove that there are absolutely no clues to be found by now, but I guess that's all… part of the fun.
