We've just received our first uninterrupted Fable gameplay demo, which gives us a quick look at the social simulation elements and combat.
Like the original trilogy, Fable lets you manage businesses, own property, marry townsfolk, and go on a killing spree. But this time, all of this is explored much more deeply, with a more complex moral system and a more practical approach to running your chosen business.
The Fable gameplay demo shows off business management, relationships, combat, and being a Posh Twat.
The gameplay demo begins with the heroes of Briar Hill entering the farming village of Silverbrook. Here they decide the fate of a talking pig, give money to a beggar, meet a merchant and buy a bar. Of course, all of this was possible in the previous game (except the talking pigs), but now it's all expanded upon.
First of all, NPC personality traits are back, but it's not enough to express a bunch of emotes in front of someone to get them to like you. Instead, ambitious characters will only shine when they demonstrate their own clever business deals, such as bargaining their way out of trouble or buying real estate. As you can see in the demo, certain actions give your character traits that appear on screen, and your fellow villagers will react based on their values.
When it comes to business ownership, we also look into this further. Now, rather than just setting prices, you can choose who works for your company and hire more employees if you don't already have enough. In the demo, we see the hero giving a beggar he befriended a job in a tavern. Because he had the “hard-working” personality trait.

Fable is getting at least one expansion pack, and it's been revealed in a Collector's Edition.
Fable's Collector's Edition confirms it's receiving at least one “story-driven” DLC.
Next, let's look at how romance works. I guess I need to try harder now. With a woman who went out of her way to give the hero just the time he met her standards. Afterwards, the two continued their successful dating and formalized their romantic relationship. Do you have any questions? Even if we don't see it here, we already know that it can harass other NPCs. We're also sure we'll meet someone we can convince to date, so get ready to indulge in some cheeky adultery once again.
Lastly, it wouldn't be a Fable game if you couldn't attack randos for no apparent reason. Rest assured. You can still do that here, and there is a bounty system in place that prohibits you from leaving and re-entering the location where the crime was committed. Additionally, killing an innocent person grants you the “Murderer” trait, which is more than fair.
I hear we'll be seeing more of Fable in the future. Fable is scheduled for release on February 23, 2027.
