Fighting Souls Teases Boss Characters With Episode Mode Reveal

Fresh off EVO 2026 in Las Vegas, Arc System Works has confirmed its final launch team for EVO 2026. Marvel Token: Battle of the Soul. Led by Robbie Reyes' version of Ghost Rider, Samurai Outriders also features Blade, Deadpool, Loki, and more. While the team may seem like a mashup of random characters, Arc System Works has confirmed that this group is made up of outlaw-style characters. But even with all the teams now revealed, it looks like ArcSys still has a few more details to share.

Arc System Works appears to be focusing on available game modes, including the previously revealed Episode Mode. Marvel Token: Battle of the Soul. ArcSys, which offers a single-player experience, gave fans a new look at the game mode with a short teaser across its social media channels. Episode mode is written by comics writer Kieron Gillen and various industry artists, and features five stories for each team in the game. As hinted at in each trailer, each story will likely show how the five teams fight against the threat of the champions.

Along with the new look of Episode Mode, players were also presented with new gameplay for some of the latest modes. Marvel Token Warriors like the Green Goblin have a super ability that allows them to summon a glider to attack their enemies. Blade also gets a cinematic-style throw that allows him to plunge his sword into the ground before slicing through enemies, and there's also Loki, who can summon clones to attack enemies. However, a big reveal was made at the end where the promoter and champion were also revealed through gameplay. It appears that players will first have to go through the Promoter before facing the final showdown with The Champion on the new stage.

Until now, promoters and champions have only been visible through the game's animated cutscenes, so this reveal has certainly got some community members thinking. Gameplay shows that the Promoter appears to have some very unique moves, utilizing a shield and seemingly random projectiles while also teleporting to safety.
