$55 billion acquisition EA A cosplay group created by Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund (PIF) is attracting attention as it plans to march to EA's Redwood City headquarters to protest the deal. The group, called Players Alliance HQ, took to social media to reveal what they plan to do once they arrive on EA's campus.
In September 2025, EA confirmed it would go private, pending a $55 billion acquisition by a consortium group comprised of PIF, Affinity Partners, and Silver Lake. Affinity Partners is an investment company funded by the Saudi Arabian government and led by Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of US President Donald Trump. However, leveraged buyouts have come under scrutiny from various groups and are still seeking regulatory approval from the U.S. government and similar agencies.

EA's Redwood City campus will be the site of 'raid' protests
Despite EA's efforts to quell the concerns of its player base, that hasn't stopped protests over the deal from emerging. One protest group, Players Alliance HQ, said it would “raid” EA's main campus in Redwood City, California to deliver petitions to block the deal. Players Alliance HQ says the protest will begin on Monday, May 11th at 11am PT. Content creator SlayerKase revealed in an Instagram post what Players Alliance HQ will do once it arrives at EA's Redwood City headquarters. SlayerKase said protesters plan to unfurl a 50-foot scroll containing more than 70,000 signatures as a petition to block the EA takeover. The scroll will unfold in the next moment. Given that Players Alliance HQ is a cosplay group, protesters plan to show up in a variety of costumes depicting EA's corporate infrastructure as villains. SlayerKase said he plans to attend and stream the protest on his Twitch channel. sims 4 Zefrine, a content creator and Twitch partner, said in a separate Instagram post that he would be streaming his perspective on the EA protest himself. Players Alliance HQ's mission statement claimed that EA CEO Andrew Wilson “was paid 260 times more than the median EA employee while the company laid off thousands of developers.” Players Alliance HQ has also expressed concerns that EA is shutting down various game servers and continuing to use loot boxes in its latest titles, thereby robbing consumers of games and money.
EA's deal isn't over yet
But Players Alliance HQ isn't the only group protesting EA's pending acquisition. U.S. Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) joined Zefrine and former EA Creator Network member Lilsimsie on a livestream to protest the EA acquisition and raise awareness among audiences. Frost is currently the youngest member of the U.S. Congress at 29 years old and is also a member of the U.S. House of Representatives Committee on Oversight and Government Reform.

In late 2025, two U.S. senators also raised national security concerns about the EA acquisition. Senators Elizabeth Warren (D-MA) and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT) said that EA's acquisition would allow PIF to leverage its position to gain influence and potential access to sensitive data of EA's audience in the U.S. and around the world. Simply put, the deal between EA and PIF is not over yet.
