Chinese anime hasn't always been extremely popular outside of their own home country, especially due to heavy competition from Japanese animated shows. With that being said, their popularity has definitely been on a steady rise over the last few years, especially with their reach being broadened with massive streaming services bringing them to their platforms — one of them being Crunchyroll.
In 2025, one of the most influential Chinese anime, called Lord of Mysterieswas officially released on Crunchyroll. While this anime ended its Season 1 run in the same year, it's now officially returning on June 20, 2026, with new episodes, and we can't wait for more Klein Moretti content to drop on Crunchyroll.
Lord of Mysteries Officially Announces 3 New Episodes Coming To Crunchyroll June 20, 2026
Crunchyroll has long been the biggest platform for anime streaming since its inception in 2006. Since then, its popularity has increased tremendously, and it's been consistently bringing in some incredible series, even beyond simple Japanese anime. On June 28, 2025, Crunchyroll started airing what can now be considered the best anime of Chinese origin of all time — Lord of Mysteries. Lord of Mysteries went on to have a strong run with 13 episodes and ended on September 13, 2025. Since then, the series hasn't gotten any new content, but that's changing in June 2026.
On June 20, 2026, Lord of Mysteries is officially making its return to the Crunchyroll platform with three new episodes. The first episode will be released on the very same date, while the others will drop weekly after, based on current information. All of us Lord of Mysteries fans are excited for this new adventure of Klein Moretti in the new story.

New Episodes Set To Cover Arc Gap in Lord of Mysteries Season 1
Lord of Mysteries' grand return in June 2026 is already building massive excitement for fans of the Donghua series. With three new episodes, there's a lot of content to look forward to, but it is only natural to wonder what exactly is being covered in this new release, and whether the upcoming content is even canon to the books, or just an addition by CMAY PICTURES.
Everything we know about the upcoming three episodes comes to us via a teaser trailer released on June 1, 2026. Via this trailer, it's clear that the upcoming episodes are here to remedy a great mistake made by Lord of Mysteries Season 1. As we know, a lot of content from the Lord of Mysteries book was removed or glossed over. These episodes will somewhat fix that, and cover important events that were cut out previously.
Specifically, these three episodes will add much-needed context for events that should have unfolded between Episodes 10 and 11 of Lord of Mysteries Season 1. These episodes will highlight Derrick, an important character whose backstory wasn't explored. With new episodes ahead, even more could be brought back from the books and expanded upon. This is incredibly exciting, and a great move from the Studio after initially rushing the story of the book. After all, the skipped content led to a very confusing story, and it was a major complaint both dedicated fans and new viewers expressed. The story of Klein is incredibly complex, and it deserves ample time to be told properly.

More Lord of Mysteries Content Is Officially Coming In 2027
Lord of Mysteries has already secured its future with CMAY PICTURES. This anime, based on the incredibly popular book by Cuttlefish That Loves Diving, has garnered global success and become one of the most popular releases of recent years. Due to that, the studio behind it has already confirmed a wide array of new content for the franchise.
For one, Lord of Mysteries Season 2 has already been officially confirmed. While an exact release date remains to be determined, Lord of Mysteries Season 2 is coming back in 2027, which means the wait isn't that long. Not only is the story returning in 2027, but it's making a comeback with a higher episode count, an actual opening sequence, and extended episode length. In every way possible, the return will be even better than season 1.
After Lord of Mysteries Season 2, the series already confirmed has content until Season 7. This level of preemptiveness is pretty much unheard of in anime. The studio behind this hit anime has revealed it plans to release Season 3 in 2030, Season 4 in 2032, Season 5 in 2033, Season 6 in 2034, and finally, Season 7 in 2035. There is, of course, even more content, like special episodes, as well as a massive video game that is getting an official beta on 26th June, 2026, meaning fans have a lot to look forward to for years to come.
